Good Evening!! 
He he heheheee!!! This is my entry on `s contest..... 
.... "Myths or Legends" is the topic for this contest 
....so, I chose the VAMPIRE!!!! 
__ Waaaaahhhhh!!!! I want to see all the other entries!!!!!! 
I am sure, this contest will be very interesting!!!! *___* ....... Yeahhh!!!! I know that my pic is not very original, but I like vampires!!! ......
Wait...... what is a vampire???
...... according to the legends, the vampire is a night creature, it leaves his coffin/grave and goes in sleeping humans' search for suck their blood. (forgive my bad english, neee?? 
) ....Aaaaaand the people bitten by vampires also become vampires!!!!!!! 
.......^__^U Some characteristics of the vampires:
+ They are not reflected in the mirrors....
+ The religious symbols and the sunlight hurt them......
+ They don't have shadows........
+ They can become bats........
+ The only way to kill them is to nail a wooden stake in their heart....
.......well, this is the information that I found! .... if I make a mistake, correct me please.

I think that the discription that you gave is more the Dracular version or the original description; now-a-days people do what they want with Vampires, like in Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith, Vampaires can walk among the day, granted that they have this special stone which protects them and they need blood, but not human blood, even though human blood make them stonger and they can also turn into an animal (or more than one) which isn't a bat; they can drink from humans without turning them - human's must drink their blood and then be kill to turn into one. Also something that I watched, the Vampires could walk among the day, although I think that it wear on them slightly... They drank human blood, but the main vampire in it (among others) drank blood for the blood banks and they never turned into animals, plus when they did bit a human they didn't always turn (they had control of that), though even when they tried to turn someone, it didn't always work! So there are a lot of veriations now, but like I said, I think that your description is definatlly the original.

1. All night creatures burn, are repelled by the sun or are extremelly weak. Why do you think they are called "night" creature, mm? Unless you're talking about the sparkle vampires from Twilight;
2. In most cultures, vampires do not have shadows nor mirror reflection, which is a symbolic representation that they do not have a soul;
3. Yes, it does. Holy water and crucifixes can hurt them. Wild roses and garlic as well and the use of magic/ritual known as apotropaism;
4. On German and western Slavic areas, they believed that vampires were killed by decapitation, but staked through the heart was also a common method of killing them;
5. Chinese Vampire takes life energy, yes... Like every other vampire. They take your life essence, in the form of blood;
6. Depends on the culture. Some cultures say that vampires are shapeshifters, others that they can shapeshift into bats.
Nothing is "official", since vampires aren't real, but I stated the most believed facts about vampire.
