Name: Magnus

Alias: Cookie (Nickname given by his friends)

DOB: Oct 9

Height: 170cm

Weight: 55kg (70kg with the metal leg)

Hair colour: Blue-silver (Naturally dark brown but he dyes it)

Eye colour: Yellow (Naturally blue)

Quirks: Speech impediment, ADHA, bad eye-sight.

From a young age, Magnus had always been interested in writing stories and poetry. This very quickly was shunned by his strict parents who later in his schooling decided to push him towards engineering and science. Magnus was particularly good with numbers and logical work, he became more invested in science and the human body, eventually pursuing illegal sciences to enhance his human form. One problem he wished to fix was his poor eyesight which he had always refused to wear glasses for; he decided a few science experiments would solve his biological flaw.

He used a system very similar to that of a camera lens, where the material would stretch and resize his pupil to adjust to lighting easier. Of course, it didn’t end up working perfectly and effected his ability to focus on things properly. He often must stare at things for a while to see them in focus.

The black strips on his face are power conductors that link to the black body suit he wears. On the back of the suit is where the battery pack is stored that powers the contraptions on his eyes. If the battery dies or fails he goes blind. The amount of energy that is left in the suit is indicated by the yellow fluid gages on his hands. He is disappointed in himself for creating such a faulty system but it’s permanent so there’s nothing he can do to get rid of it without damaging his eyes more.

Magnus used to live with his two parents and brother until he ran away to pursue his illegal sciences without being bothered by them; he was in grade 11 at high-school before he left. He was also put on a government watch list for conducting some very dangerous experiments both at home and in public. He often scavenges for materials in junk yards close to his ‘second home’ in the middle of nowhere, for his science and engineering projects.

He has a speech impediment; his throat was damaged at birth, so he naturally cannot speak louder than 20 decibels. He uses an ear-attached microphone to project his voice a bit more, but it makes him sound muffled and robotic. His diction is already quite bland to begin with so it doesn’t help his case.

Magnus has a form of ADHD. He often expresses these symptoms:

Behavioural: impulsivity, lack of restraint, or persistent repetition of words or actions

Cognitive: absent-mindedness, difficulty focusing, forgetfulness, problem paying attention, or short attention span.

Since this OC is part of a joint project, here is the origin story of how him and Quentinius/Quen met:

One night, Quen broke in to an abandoned facility to look for the resources there. What he wasn’t aware of was that Magnus had been following him all the way inside. Magnus had heard about Quen’s work and had located his whereabouts that afternoon. Coincidentally enough, it was the same location Magnus used to search for engineering materials. Shortly, a timed explosion was triggered by a malfunctioning computer; the building was set to collapse. Quen managed to escape in time, but Magnus got caught in the rubbles at the entrance. However, Quen caught a glimpse of Magnus at the very moment the roof collapsed on him. At first sight, he thought Magnus was an android because of the markings on his face, so he went to investigate. As he pulled the unconscious kid from the ruins, he noticed that Magnus’s leg had been torn off, and that blood was pouring out. Now realising this was a human, the situation had changed. But it was far too late to delay any further as the police were already alerted by the explosion. Out of impulse, Quen decided to help Magnus and brought him to his residence. There he replaced his leg with a mechanical one along with mending other damages. After waking up in Quen’s laboratory, Magnus managed to convince the android he was so fascinated about to let him live with him and observe his work. And that is how they met :3
