Description I thought that I might as well post a better picture of the scimitars I used for my beloved Red Mage cosplay. These are actually probably the easiest weapon prop I've ever made for a costume, and since I wanted two identical ones, it was almost literally cut and paste.

They're made of 1/2" MDF wood, with some red metallic paint on the blades and gray pommels, separated by some black athletic tape. Simple, easy to handle, pretty shape, and red, I rather enjoyed being able to carry around such easy props for a costume for once.

As usual, questions, comments and criticisms are more than welcome, and I hope you guys enjoy them despite their simplicity!

love the design and look of these, you ever think about making more and selling them?

I like the design and look of the way you think! Lol, but seriously, thanks for the compliment! And these honestly weren't very hard at all, so that's not out of the question. How bad do you want em?

Hehe not so bad that I'd pay mountains of money for them
But am am sure we can come to an agreement of a fair price
How much would you like for one blade?

I'd never dare ask for a whole mountain of money! However, a small hill might be nice

But honestly, I have no idea! Price would be calculate based on cost of materials plus a sum derived from total hours worked. I kept no track of this when making these, though I will say that it was one of my quicker builds. My workload is kind of heavy right now, so I wouldn't be comfortable officially accepting a commission right now, but once my plate clears a little bit maybe we can do some business!

Just to throw out a number (VERY SUBJECT TO CHANGE, be it higher or lower) I would say one would run you in the ball park of $30-ish...maybe. Also, there is shipping to consider, may I ask what state you live in?

30 sounds fair, I'd be good with that
I'm living in Norway, hope that won't cause trouble with postage, am willing to pay extra for the postage.

Oh, wow, Norway is quite a ways away from Florida, lol! Well in any case, I can't start working on this for a while, so your commission request isn't officially accepted yet. Keep in touch though and keep an eye on my journals, if I have enough time to start working on stuff I'll make sure to say so there!

Shipping will probably add a chunk to the base price, which again, may or may not be 30. Would you just want a direct copy of what I have, or do you want yours altered a bit? Changing color would be very simple, and minor alterations to the sword itself won't be too much trouble, just remember any extra time I have to spend on the sword will result in a few more dollars to the price.

Look forward to doing business with ya, whenever that may be! ^^

Will be keeping an eye on your journal to see when you'll be able to officialy accept the commision.
I understand that the post cost will be high, just hope it won't be too much
Think the sword look great the way it isand can't think of anything I'd like to change about it

Looking forward to see and hold the finished blade, whenever that will be
