Description
Made very quickly for a commission going to Otakucon,this is Lightning's Sword from Final Fantasy 13 and is made from poplar wood, birch plywood, and finishing washers. Measures about 45 inches long and is about four pounds.Looking for props? I do commissions!

what did you use to make this? or what do you use to make your swords?

It's made of poplar and birch wood with a few finishing washers and a couple of plastic circles for some of the details. I really just used a jigsaw, a orbiting hand sander, a band sander to get the blade pointy, a power drill to make the holes, a dremmel for some fine sanding and some glue. This is really like the fourth or fifth time that I've made this sword haha so it's become a fine science. I wish I had more time to work on it so I could put in more layered details vs fauxing the details on the handle, but ah well.

While I cannot say that I have had the pleasure of seeing this sword in any pictures as of late, you do have some wicked clean line work and that isn't easy. Nicely done. I'm more a gunsmith prop makers so ?Nerf and nerfesque are my tools of choice, feel free to check them out and let me know what you think. Kudos on the slick job though
