Ok so I was asked how I draw eyes, I can be a tad chaotic sometimes...but I hope the following stuff makes sense.
Just a basic eye, I haven't really put any effort into the surrounding area, like the lashes etc.

Stuff: Mechanical pencil with H lead and a 6B pencil, a q-tip.

Step 1: Using an H pencil I have drawn the basic outline for the eye, including where the light is hitting the eye and a few basic details. Making sure you have a good outline to begin with means that you won't get halfway through a picture and realise that you went wrong somewhere with the shape (lay a good foundation before you start shading 6B doesn't erase well). You can make one up or use a reference, I used my mum's eye (she has blue eyes, so the shading in the iris won't be super dark in the finished drawing).

Step 2: With a 6B pencil I started filling in all the darkest areas first, so that's the pupil, around the iris and the top of the eye. I also penciled in some flecks on the eye. All shading and flecks go around the iris radially.

Step 3: I then Start shading the inner iris, slightly lighter than the outside of the iris, leaving some of the areas even lighter, this is where my mum's eyes are brighter blue. Carefully smooth the shading with a q-tip.

Step 4: I then start shading around the white of the eye and added the top lid with some light shading.

Step 5: Added the lower lid and lashes and added lighter shading to the eye.

Step 6: Add light shading to the remaining white of eye and using an eraser clean up the reflection and bring out some of the lighter areas.

I use a q-tip to smooth shading and help blend it a little, being careful around the parts I want to stay white.
an eraser also helps in cleaning up the areas you want to remain white and blend.
