Quick little watercolor painting I did after re-reading Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are," Quite a good read when you're fighting insomnia, heh.A/N: Cleaner version updated -yay-

OMG I found it again I commented on this way back in 2002 (seems so long ago) and saved it off to just sit and look at it because it was so nice but for some inexplicable reason I didn't put you on my watch and during a hard drive swap the picture vanished so I have searched ever since but then it occured to me that it had been a daily deviation so I looked through the daily deviations in reverse (and my there is a lot) went through about a 1000 pieces of work until i found and then I just sat and looked at it again, amazing

I just love the colour, and the expression on the Ogre's face. It's like someone trying to explain why ants come to a picnic, he's just got htis littke 'oh... ohkay.' kind of expression. Very cool. The texture of the trees and the grass is absolutely grougeous. I'm usually not a fan of watercolour, but it really breathes life into the image.

ive had you on devwatch for so long.
this piece says so much, its telling a complete story. it sets my imagination free. one could create an entire light fantasy epic centered around this piece. it just feels like there should be some history here.
it also says alot about you, and your skill with what some believe to be the hardest of media.

Up in the mountains lying on the grass, I saw a boogie man sliding on his... Ask no questions, tell no lies, I saw a boogie man doing up his... Flies are a nuisance, flies are a pest, I saw a boogie man putting on his vest.

You could of course go with the flow and not fight insomnia. The artwork is really gorgeous, and humorous too. It lives despite or because of the very quality of fantasy displayed here.
I'm doing an inquiry on insomnia here on DevArt and will probably make something of a huge collab-deviation (with consent of each contributor of course) in the form of an online exhibition framed in a story (which is my forte - not that I'm the very best writer but the first one to come up with an idea like this).
