Description
This is coloring practice for me based on the lineart of To see the original line art, go here: [link]Used by permission.
I used mostly Prang and Prismacolor pencils, but I also employed a black and a red Sharpie. Black border compliments of Photoshop, of course.
This didn't turn out as well as I wanted. I tried a different technique for the shading, plus I was doomed to use one Crayola pencil. @_@ And we all know how I feel about Crayola pencils...
My scanner is going bad, too.
Thanks to for letting me practice on his line art!

One question though, is gaara wearing a pink shirt?Or is it a a very light red?

It's maroon, actually. The problem is that my maroon pencil is a Crayola, so it was impossible to get it to come out as dark and solid and nice as I wanted.
I'm going to the art store on Monday, and I hope to pick up some new Prangs or Prismacolors there...especially for maroon, since Gaara wears that color a lot.

Gaara's hair looks amazing, and I want to ruffle it. I get the feeling that some unfortunate idiot is about to die a very painful death, and I hope it's not me. Shading on his face came out well, too. If it's any consolation, I can't tell where you used the evil Crayola.

Thank you!
Good. I hate Crayola. They make me nuts. Actually, after using the 3 of them, I like Prang the best.

Crayola.
Prang is a good balance. Prismacolor can look wierd if you don't have a blending stick. Both are hard to lay down solid darks with.

I agree. I like Prang better, but I have a few Prismacolors out of necessity. I do I have blending stick, but I noticed that each company's pencils react a bit differently to it. And I hate Crayola.

Yeah. It also depends on your blending stick. And the paper. And what you want it to do.
Crayola, for the most part, is for young children.
