Is it possible for composition to come naturally to some people, with no training?

Excellent tutorial. Just be sure to note that the "one thirds"
(formally, rule of thirds) is ONLY a guideline. And of course,
can be broken [carefully]. I learned from your idea of point
of interests too. Need to study it a bit more, thanks!

pisces-hilda [2010-11-07 01:55:51 +0000 UTC]

i find this quite usful as a reminder ^_^
although i've learned a few theories about drawing/ painting
sometimes when there are too many desired elements
things cancome be confusing and those foils might take over the attention
so this piece of information is very usful for starters
thanks

Nerkle [2010-04-20 20:52:10 +0000 UTC]

If I drew a character on a vertical piece of paper, on the left, and his head being one of the points of interest based on the rule of thirds, would that cause his entire form to become an object of interest due to its attachment to his head? This is what I'm going for and am unsure if this is a correct assumption.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

arisuonpaa In reply to Nerkle [2010-05-02 05:06:23 +0000 UTC]

It doesn't guarantee that the whole character would get into focus, but the eye does get naturally lead from the head to the rest of the body. Just be careful the rest of the body doesn't lead the viewer out of the picture.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Nerkle In reply to arisuonpaa [2010-05-02 20:27:05 +0000 UTC]

So just ensure that his whole body is in cooperation with the setting?

The part about not letting the ground take up more than one third, or sky vice versa was very helpful :] im going to apply that to my photography from now on :d
