There is a LCD setting on my Lumix camera that pops these lines on to the screen. I knew they were for composition, but didn't really "know" how to use them. So thanks!

It's something I've seen a while ago, but it kind of makes me happy to see it as a well-made tutorial. Fave'd naturally.

It was helpful! I think that if the subject matter fills the whole frame then it looks good for them to be 'dead center'.

Wonderful tutorial. It's true that you don't find many tutorials that explain composition, and if you do, they're very complex and sometimes confusing. But this is well explained. Wonderful job! and congrats on the DD as well!

Very good tutorial of the basics of composition. You really don't see much of these around. This reminded me of some the basic things I should know and had almost totally forgotten about paintings so thank you for that.

good stuff here, i have a habit of starting my light source dead center, and it's usually the primary focus but i try to go either side. i'll have to try your 1/3's cross section method next time i paint.

I almost never do enough planning when I start to paint, but this is a simple way of blocking out the picture beforehand that doesn't take too much time or patience - thanks

Thanks so much for doing this -- I say keep on!

nice thing to do dude, personally I always rely on my feeling as I have no official background in graphics and such and I dont think i could do any other way anyway, but it's always nice when someone decides to explain things to otherS
