hahaha lol! i was just browsing through assassin's creed fan art randomly, and i thought as i looked at this... "this is really good and funny! and the style is really familiar..." then i looked down to see whose drawing it was and it turned out to be yours ari! Actually, the Templar Knights were hunted down for practicing a specific heresy within the Catholic Church. The heresy was Gnosticism which meant they believed that they alone could be saved because they thought they had a special knowledge of God that no one else had and likewise everyone else was predestined for hell. Gnosticism was rampant among the early Christians and one narcissistic Gnostic even wrote his own version of the Catholic Canon consisting mostly of his own writings. As Catholics believe that everyone can obtain heaven via faith and integrity and piousness, Gnosticism was one of the most despised heresies.
