Name: Rej the Reject
Nicknames: E-4000 Eggsimilator prototype (Original name), Junk pile, rust bucket or other scrap metal related names.

Back story: Rej was originally created by Doctor Eggman as the E-4000 Eggsimilator Prototype; a machine that can assimilate other machines to create a more powerful robot. However Eggman found his new weapon to have numerous defects and flaws, such as its ability to absorb machinery would quickly burn out and stop working for good. So he tossed the little egg shaped machine into his junkyard before starting work on the finalised version. The prototype however was still active and with its basic AI absorbed some other discarded robot parts to put together a simple robotic body before its assimilation function gave out. With its new junk body it escaped and travelled around to other abandoned Eggman bases in search of replacement parts to repair itself and information. The robot managed to find a computer that still had access to the Egg-Net (Information database for the Eggman Empire) and downloaded all kinds of data; blue prints on weapon and robot technology, information on some of Eggman's enemies, lists of conquered territories along with footage of the attacks, etc . Through this download the robot started to learn how horrible its creator was and decided to be its own person; if Eggman rejected him, then he is proud to be a Reject, so he will be "Rej the Reject" from then on.

Rej continued his travels from one abandoned lab to another in search of more parts to repair his broken down components until he arrived at the Mystic Ruins base where he crossed paths with two mobians also searching the base, they were Umbra the Wolf and Lunas the Echidna. Thinking that Rej was another Eggman Badnik, a fight broke out that accidentally activated a large Boss Badnik that was left behind to attack any scavengers. Working together the three managed to defeat the robot and Rej was able to convince the two he was friendly and has cut ties with Eggman. Umbra decides to bring Rej along with him and Lunas and give them both a home, much to Ruby's initial frustration, but she soon sympathised with their situation and agrees to take them on as long as they earn their stay by joining the Treasure Hunting business. Rej became the teams technology expert and mechanic thanks to the data he stole from the Egg-Net, and while the small business didn't have the resources for anything big, he was able to create useful gadgets and weapons for them.

The team would truly become established once they faced Team Hex, a group of villains led by the Witch Hex the Bat who is targeting Umbra's Omni Rings. They would fight over artefacts or fend off some of their wicked schemes and things would only get worse once the evil Gwynn, master of the Black Flame Cult joins Hex and converts her small group into a growing army of darkness. The past would soon catch up to Rej though in the form of a finalised E-4000 machine that Eggman sends out to hunt down whoever hacked into the Egg-Net. After an epic battle the team defeated the machine, but it only gave way for it to attain its own sentience and to cut ties with Eggman, as the organic hating, robotic villain Negus the Dark, sworn enemy to organic life and of its "brother" Rej.

Rej would make more friends and enemies as he and the team continue their work as Treasure Hunters for hire as well as doing Odd Jobs on the side. Like Chloe the Assembler, a Gizoid Fembot whose function is construction, not battle, that Rej rescued from Eggman, Since then she has been living with the team and the two robots got very attached to each other. After another battle with Negus, Rej decides to give himself an upgrade with Chloe's help and go from a junk bot to a beetle like robot with modular components he can swap out to fit the situation. Thanks to their abilities and skill they basically become Metal City Zone's resident Freedom Fighter group once the Botanical Kingdom Zone chapter of the Eggman Army attempts to invade. Many more wonderful adventures await Rej and his friends.

Personality: Rej has something of a silly personality that was initially made up of fusing certain elements of the many personalities of numerous characters that he copied from files when he hacked into the Egg-Net, but since then he has interacted with others and learned from them, resulting in a talkative, humorous and energetic robot who borders on occasional 4th wall breaking with referential humour. He's very enthusiastic when it comes to technology and enjoys to tinker with machines and gadgets. He loves to have fun with his friends so he likes pranks and games. In general Rej is a likable character with a more colourful personality then most other robots, but is rather annoying to the enemies he battles due to his big mouth and mocking demeanour towards them, which Rej of course does on purpose. He also has a tendency to keep score in battles whenever the team fights a large group of bad guys, and while this may give the impression he sees everything as a game, it is not true. Rej is fully aware of how serious a situation is and will stop joking around when things go wrong for his friends, but he strongly feels that you need someone to lighten the mood when things turn dark, and he is happy to be that person to his friends. Rej cares about his friends and is very protective of them, and due to having a very durable robot body, he tends to act as a shield to protect his friends from danger even if the attack would heavily damage him, but he knows he can be easily repaired, his friends cannot.

Likes: Tinkering with machines, games, pranks, cartoons and movies, comics, Chloe, his friends, downloading information, is a Nicole Fanboy.
Dislikes: Being bored, rust, computer viruses, being hacked, Negus the Dark, Eggman and his badniks, seeing his friends suffer, being treated like a thing and not a person annoys him.

Abilities:
- After his upgrade Rej is now a modular robot who can swap out his body parts (head, arms, shoulders, legs, feet and backpack) for more specialised parts with functions tailored to the situation. So far he only has the resources for his current load out but has plans to make more. The only body part that remains constant is his Core which is the egg shaped torso of his body. If his body parts are ever detached from the core, he can still control them remotely for a short time (mostly the head) before their power reserves run out.

- Rej's arm components can transform to have a blaster that shoots concussive energy blasts. Also his fingers can transform into a selection of tools for working on technology.

- Has a jetpack shell on his back that allows Rej to fly in the air or hover along the ground for extra speed.

- His Core component has a compartment in the chest with access to hammer space allowing him to store a number of random objects such as gadgets, grenades, plushies, etc.

- The Core can also sprout up to 6 metal tendrils that allow Rej to walk or handle objects when he doesn't have access to his body parts. Its these tendrils that attach to the body parts and act as his upper limbs. Also the tendrils can extend to a very long length and allow Rej extra reach for his arms and legs. The tendrils can also plug into computers to allow Rej to hack them and download data, or temporarily control them.

- Another ability of the tendrils is they allow Rej to connect to other machines/robots. For example he can attach his core unit to the back of Chloe the Assembler and use his limb parts to act as extra arms or weapons for her.

- Rej's head can deploy a battle mask that protects his mouth and eyes.

- He can project holograms from his palms which are useful for a visual presentation or to distract enemies with.

- Being a machine he is very durable and strong, but not as strong as his friend Lunas. However his body parts can be easily removed from his tendrils with enough force or if the tendril is damaged.

- Very intelligent in the ways of technology though most of his data is copied from some of Egg-Man's designs, mixed with some Gizoid designs supplied by Chloe.

- Has scanning capabilities with a variety of modes (Thermal, night-vison, etc).

- Like most characters, Rej can use the 7 Chaos Emeralds to gain a super form that greatly enhances all of his abilities. His body turns golden and his lenses change to bright green.

Former/RP Abilities: These are powers and abilities Rej either use to have or currently has but confined to recent plot developments in RPs I'm having with friends, but would not come up again.

- When Rej was originally built, he was designed to absorb and assimilate other machines and technology to become more powerful. But because he was a flawed prototype this function only lasted a few attempts when he absorbed a couple of junk parts to make his original body. After which the function was lost for good and can't be repaired. This would be Rej's trump card against powerful opponents, but eventually the device started to lose power and the Rejus form lasting even shorter. The device stopped working all together and after another attack from Negus it was revealed it wasn't a device at all, but some sort of egg that contained an energy creature that has now fused with Rej's programming, in a way granting him a proper soul. With the loss of the Rejus form Rej got himself upgraded to his current state to make up for it, but even the upgrades didn't reach the same levels of power Rejus did. (I decided to write out the Rejus form as it was an over-powered ability).

Rej has built a number of gadgets that he can store in his chest compartment that come in handy out in the field such as a variety of grenades (sleep, stun, shock, stink), hologram projectors and hand-held scanners for his friends. Apart from the main weapons in his arms, Rej has designed and built other weapons, like the Newid Ymyl sword which can transform to different sizes (He doesn't use it much unless he's playing Knight roles).

Communicator:
Like all members of Team Eclipse, Rej has a small communicator device he built himself that is installed in his Core unit, which allows him to communicate with the others. The device can either do simple audio, or project a holographic screen to display who he is talking to.

Random Stuff:
He also likes to store random items in his compartment for various reasons, but mostly for jokes, like comic books, rubber ducks, Plushies of Chloe and Nicole the Lynx, etc.

Fears and Flaws: As durable and strong as Rej is being a machine, his body parts can fall off with enough force, though they can easily be reattached afterwards. Rej wants to be seen as reliable and dependable to his friends, this often becomes a problem when there is something wrong with him like a malfunction, he'll keep it a secret from them so they won't worry until he fixes it himself if he can. His silly and joking nature while considered one of his best qualities can become annoying at times even by his friends, which results in a slap to the back of his head when he puts his foot in his mouth. Despite being treated as a person by his close friends and allies, he is bothered by the fact that he is still considered by others as a mere machine, and at worse an Eggman robot, thus having to keep proving that he can be trusted.

Creator’s Notes: Rej the Reject was an interesting character to create, he was an attempt at making a flight member for my team (Umbra was the speed member and Lunas was the power member), I thought of different ideas like a bird character or a bug character but finally decided on a robot. At first once I got the look of him in my head I had his back-story as him being the prototype of the Phi robots from Sonic Battle that was faulty and once in the junkyard attached parts onto him but eventually I changed my mind thinking that sucked. I decided to make up a robot for Eggman to create but then toss aside, but I needed a way for him to get junk parts. I got inspired by an episode of “Godzilla the Series” and of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003” that included a machine character or monster that absorbed machinery into it’s structure becoming more powerful, so that’s where I got the idea of Rej absorbing junk to make his body. Initially and for a long time he had a split personality from the fact that Emerl made his personality by learning from his friends but to make it different Rej had a glitch that made his voice sound like the person who’s personality trait he was using. As for his name I went through a lot of ideas, there was Rejus, then Reje and then there was Junk but finally decided upon Rej as it sounded like an actual name when spoken and it was short for Reject. As for the Rejus ability he got I came up with that about 2 weeks after finalising him, I noticed that in a lot of anime the main robot would go through some sort of transformation that made him better and I wanted to do that for Rej but still keep his appeal as a junk bot, I achieved this by making the upgrade temporary and because I put a limit on how often he can use it I brought it down to a powerful ability he can only use in certain situations. However with time I developed him more and refined the character to the point where I wanted to make improvements to his design and get rid of the Rejus form as it had become an over-powered ability that I felt took away from Rej's normal form. So after doing a big RP story dedicated to writing out the form, I gave Rej's design an update to his current look that resembles a beetle, that along with refining what his abilities were so that he was a valued member of the team without overshadowing anyone.
