Description
Someone on FA suggested I make a fur texture tutorial. Ah, the power of suggestions!Please don't bash this tutorial. I know there are better ways of making fur (that get better results), but I'd rather be painting fur for real than doing it digitally. This is just how I've figured out how to make fur on photoshop. Take it or leave it, it's all good.

This tutorial looks trying to follow it nut I have one question... I see you have zoom numbers for both horizontal and vertical brushes, but Iām unclear as to whether the 15 px is the size of the individual dots or the whole brush

That tutorial is really old, I need to edit this. š I don't do fur like that anymore. Anyway, the 15px is the whole brush size.

Give it a try, I hope it works for you! I'll be making a traditional (acrylic) fur tutorial when my current painting is finished.

Thanks! There are better ways to make fur (yeah, the traditional way) but it's much harder to do. With the dodge/burn tool, you just color and the lighter/darker tones are made for you. Haha, cheats.

Ahhh I see c;
I can also see why though, all things considered.
Now, if only more people showed their fur methods in traditional means. ahhahhaha xD
^.^;
Ahwell-- I was looking to start trying digital again, so, I'll be sure to add this to my references when/if ever I manage to give that a go! c;

Traditional fur tutorials are much harder to make (since it takes many photos while you're painting.) I have a collection of 14 photos of "in progress" painting, but it's not an animal. It's the door painting I did called "One Way." Maybe I should go photo happy with my next animal painting.

That was never a doubt in my mind!
Is it the sort of painting that the Road Runner would manage to blaze through, but the poor Coyote would slam right into? D;
Poor Coyote.... :c
Haha-- I'd love you for life.
Fifteen years down the road you'd have to come back, 'Hey... you... remember how I did that traditional fur tutorial?... Yeah... well... I think I might find it in my best interest if you knocked this person har outta existence. I mean... you did say love for life, didn't you?' D:
Ahh Lord only knows xP

LOL, possibly! I doubt road runner OR coyote could withstand the patience it takes to paint fur traditionally!
Awww. You so funny! When I get to painting next (many digital commissions from now...), I'll be starting a traditional commission. I could use that as my tutorial subject.
It's of cute doggies too!

Well, MAYBE the coyote :3
Epic.
And, I know, with how much the world loves my dog, they commissioned you to do images of my dog from pup hood up 'till he is now.
Good for them!
Ahahaha ahahaha ah ha ha ha ha xPPP

MUahahaha for you, I confuse easy. I fall for all sorts of crap.
Hehe, I wanna share a funny joke a friend pulled on me in high school.
You know of pencil smudge sticks, right? The cloth blenders used to blend pencil or graphite? Well, a guy friend saw me using one and he picked it up. I was drawing and didn't pay him any mind. He said, "Hey, I know how to make a smoothie out of this."
I looked at him a bit annoyed, "What are you talking about, I can't make a smoothie out of a blender." I fell into that one head first. It might be a bit corny, but I thought it was funny...after I realized it was joke.

Maybe you'll pass by an artsy person somewhere else to prank.

It is sad :c
I hope I do... I also hope I manage to advance in doign such as well >.<;
Well, I KNOW I will keep drawing-- but, I mean... I hope I get better at it while I do it, with no one to say, "HEY-- HEY THAT'S WRONG AND HERE'S WHY AND WAYS ON HOW TO FIX/IMPROVE IT!!!"
HAHA xD
Ahhh, to pass someone randomly and do that, would be such an awesom moment, I think it'd be the most awesome of my life xDDDDD
