I love your design!
It doesn't mammalian features, the tail looks deep to swim and it is not too long, the feet are wide (not too much) and the scales also are cool.
Only I would design his back plates like the 2014 and correct his hands a little (they look very human).

Make him stand more upright, with touch more Godzilla look in the head, with tree bark scales and you'd just about have nailed what I would do for a more realistic Godzilla. And no "edgy xtreme" spikes and armor. That is something I love about this version. Too many people wanna do that to him and it looks absurd.

I think that it would work a bit better with some more spikes and armor plating, maybe a 'hunched' posture, and a more massive build.

Fascinating! I've only seen one Godzilla film, but I know most of the characters, including Rodan, Ghidrah, and Mothra. Even Anguirus, the Ankylosaur-like enemy-turned-ally.

A little saurian for my tastes, this however WOULD make a great Gorosaurus or Godzillasaurus.

Well Godzilla always WAS a dinosaur. The old upright look was based on the understanding of dinosaurs in the later 20th century, slow, tail dragging lizards. I think this does a little more justice to his dinosaur origins without making him scrawny like zilla.

Wow, I dig it. This is sort of the direction I'm always trying to go with my Godzilla designs. Though I usually do a longer tail, give him Baronyx claws, and adopt a more 45-degree angel stance.
But mine never turn out this well.

It keeps the iconic traits of the original while providing a more realistic depiction.
