Description Alright, here's my own Godzilla design, A harmonious blending of Heisei (1989-1995) Godzilla and the American Gino. Leaning more towards heisei G. I'll color this later...

Now see this...THIS...right here is what "GINO" should've looked like if they were going for a Godzilla that runs.  As long as he has the breath of death (my term for his atomic fire) then I'm sold.  Good job.

I love this redesign. My only nitpick would be the arms and the fingers. They look a little too long and too human-looking.

This is pretty much what the redesign I have done looks like, except I keep the upright posture due to physics reasons... Biologists and paleontologist agree if it were possible for an animal to get that big and not collapse under it's own mass, digigrade leg would in no way be structurally able to support the weight... So the traditional Godzilla stance is actually the most feasible. But that being said, I love the more dino like posture, as it gives him a sleekness. Awesome work! Maybe check out My G-stuff in my gallery, if you'd like, also!

lol I like it ^^

I love both godzillas, I have to say, mostly on the basis of designs, but this has got to be my favorite rendition of any godzilla.

It worked out well blending the two concepts together, making him more awesome Zilla like whilst keeping the old school charm that I really dig. I know you'd get at least a little flak for an image like this from classic godzilla fans, but lets face it, despite the cool retro charm of the old godzilla, he was kinda retarded.

My personal favorite is still the Heisei '89 vers. from Godzilla vs. Biolante, to me that is the quintessential Godzilla. Although the slimmed-down vers. in Final Wars is a close second.

lol fair duce there. ^^
I do like the '89 Heisei version, but the Japanese Godzilla in generally has always come across as fairly bulbous and rotund to me, so I really like this revamped version which takes what I would consider the best elements of both Godzilla and Zilla and makes them one.

I did intentionally mimic the original Tristar designs as I felt those were a much better assimilation of Godzilla into a more modern, faster, stronger, more-agile kaiju. However, the script was completely bogus in my opinion. XD

Terrific piece!!!

I wasn't that much of a fan of the script either. It was better than G98, but it seemed a little too plot driven to me.

Gareku In reply to Art-Minion-Andrew0 [2009-02-27 20:50:04 +0000 UTC]

So, seeing that you didn't like the original script, how would you handle an American Godzilla remake?

Godzilla2014 In reply to Gareku [2009-02-27 23:15:29 +0000 UTC]

Here's my basic concept: What would happen if Godzilla existed in our real world?
It is a more realistic take on Godzilla 1954 with better science and more exploration into Godzilla's powers and explaining them, as well as the effects Godzilla would have on the world in that situation. Godzilla will have been mutated an amphibious descendant of T. rex that saw its evolutionary inception approximately 2,000,000 years ago. Answering those big science questions about him: How the hell can radiation enhance a dinosaur instead of killing it? How can such a creature support its own weight? What is Godzilla's thermonuclear breath? How does it work? How can he withstand bullets, rockets, missiles, bombs and not only survive it but keep fighting?
What do you think?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Gareku In reply to Godzilla2014 [2009-02-27 23:53:58 +0000 UTC]

Well, while dinosaur like, my Godzilla is more than just a mutated dinosaur. Like in the original script, it is a MONSTER created from dinosaur genes. I explained the radioactive abilities by having radiation be a nullifying factor in the Gryphon, and the other probe monster's, regenerative abilities. In other words, they gave Godzilla radioactive abilities to counter the probe monsters regeneration. His breath will by ionized oxygen, like the script's version. It will appear like this, a red-orange glow in the back of his throat, the a few meters from his mouth, the oxygen ignites with blue-black flame. I'm not going to get to deep into the realism though. But i will be making pseudo scientific explanations for some phenomenon, like Godzilla's breath, while also giving him more dinosaurian and reptilian features.
These include:
1. An alligator like tail for swimming
2. A second eyelid, like in the script
3. A more dinosaurian face
4. Pebbly reptilian skin
5. Theropod like legs, don't worry, they won't be too lanky
6. An Igaunadon's thumb spike
7. A Baryonyx "hook" claw for his pointer finger.

What do you think?

I was not talking about your Godzilla.
I was talking about mine. It's a modern, serious, dark, realistic take on Godzilla 1954. Based on the concept of "What If Godzilla Existed In Our World?"
Now on the subject of my Godzilla and the film,
What do you think?

Godzilla2014 In reply to Gareku [2009-02-27 03:08:23 +0000 UTC]

I do not mean to speak for Mr. Andrew, but there is plenty wrong with it to me. Let me just say I prefer Godzilla as an amoral badass force of nature, neither good nor evil, not as a Kaneko Gamera ripoff. The film's first act seems to have wanted to appeal to my tastes, but unfortunately, as we find out in the second and third acts that he is supposed to be humanity's guardian, it creates a plot hole Godzilla could hide in. His behavior suddenly changes without sufficient explanation: Act 1-He is released from the cavern. He then goes (out of his way, I might add) to a Japanese fishing village and destroys it. Who knows. Then Godzilla dissappears. He is last seen five years later destroying a ship. Where was he hiding? Why was he hiding? I guess we'll never know. Act 2-We find out Godzilla is our geneticall-engineered protector. Wait, why did he destroy the village and the ships earlier in the film? I guess we'll never know. Godzilla returns, destroys defending warships WITH GLEE. Gryphon appears. Act 3- Let's look back so far in this script. Godzilla has gone from mysterious beast to a godzilla damn Gamera ripoff. Not even a Heisei Gamera-esque anti-hero, but a Showa Gamera-esque superhero. Godzilla fights Gryphon, kills it. All the earlier destruction is written off as "accidental". What about the shipwreck earlier?
This wretched abomination of a script is horrificly overrated. Probably only held in the high esteem it is due to comparision to the Centropolis ZILLA film. In fact, the most common praise for it is comparitive to ZILLA.Why the hell did Rossio and Elliot change Godzilla into a genetically engineered protector? That is as much, if not more, of a bastardization of the character as Roland Emmerich making him a llizard who mutates into a dinosaur in the Centropolis film. I think TriStar was right not to make it. I think of it as the Batman Year One to my planned film's Batman Begins.
