Description
Here's the first half of the Gino vs. Godzilla picture, i.e. the Gino half. It's taken a few weeks, especially since i put it on the back burner for about 3 weeks for smaller, earsier, quicker deviations. But hey, now it's done for all the world to see.Related content

Looking at this, I feel there should be a kaiju monster documentary similar to walking with dinosaurs.

And possible. The Walking with Dinosaurs guys did that Dragon documentary, too.

What I meant to say in the post above...Beautiful rendition of Zilla you have here (Zilla being of course Toho's official name for the monster...though I prefer American Godzilla myself, which was the moniker they used pre-Final Wars).

Or GINO as in "Godzilla In Name Only"
*shrugs*

Yeah...that's how I feel about all these monster aliases myself, but Zilla is the Toho picked name regardless, first deployed in Final Wars, which acknowledges the fact that it's not the real Godzilla because he's missing the God in his name.
*Double Shrugs*

They called it Zilla because they said that it took the god out of Godzilla.

I think I made that point quite clear, even with the sarcastic *Double Shrugs* geared towards the complicated nature of ALL behind the scene movie trivia.

Nah, don't be...ever since my terrifying time at the 2007 (or 2006?) Power Ranger convention in LA, I've become bitter...but didn't mean to throw it on you man.

0_o Power Ranger Convention? That sounds scary already...Why? What happened there?

Enshohma In reply to Eternal-Equinox [2008-10-07 07:15:11 +0000 UTC]
First off, I'm a huge fan of almost all things giant monster related, so Power Rangers / Super Sentai has been there for me with my yearly fix of colorful (often insane) mecha and insanely colorful kaijin (monster-people) villains who oddly enough are easier to handle then the said mecha in recent years. With that said, the best why I can describe my displeasure and alienation at the event was like a being a stereotypical Brooklyn Jew visiting the land of Israel.
I'll just leave it at that very un-PC remark.
But the attending celebrities at the thing (if you can call Power Ranger actors such) were awesome folks regardless, especially some of the voice actors I hung out with. Unfortunately I felt sorry for them when the con emended and some one in charge thought it be a great idea to let ALL the fans bum rush the stage at the closing ceremony...while I ran the opposite direction like a lead character in the climax of a Lovecraft story.
Now cynicism aside, I take my leave for the night.

Oh XD I know how it feels to go to alienating conventions, i went to a video game convention in the city where i lived. It was FULL of super nerds. I hate to be racist, but there was honestly not one person there that wasn't either asian, fat, wore glasses or had acne.
On a side note, my drama teacher almost got the part of the red power ranger when the auditions for the show were taking place, i know, it's not that prestigious of a part, but hey, they still get paid a shitload, so i'll take it XD

Nooo...they came in every shape, color, gender, age and creed...they were just not well behaved...but then again, who isn't in this blasted age anyway. Even non-nerd will waste a week's pay in money just to see the latest comic book movie and trample everyone else to get their first.
Like I said, I'm getting bitter.
As for your drama teacher, I'm guessing these were the days before Disney bought the franchise and Power Rangers was still an American based shoot (1994-2000)?

I guess so, i'm not a fan of comics, but there are some fucking good comic movies (like the dark knight).
And yeah, my drama teacher is from america, so he probably auditioned around that time period.

I really love this pic, it's amazing. Not many people are fans of GINO, but I actually kinda like him, even though he's not really godzilla. He's still an awesome kaiju.

This is a very nice digital painting. It would seem you paid very close attention to skin detail and the texture of the skin. It looks as if it is almost photo-realistic. Great job, devinately a fav. The only thing that I can see that I would try and change a little bit would be the supporting foot. The angle looks a tad bit awkard but that could just be me. It really doesnt hurt image though. Gratz on a wonderful picture

Wow... THAT'S digital airbrush alone?? I coulda sworn from first glance that it was a tremendously detailed skinning job on a smooth, flowing, beautifully articulated 3D model... *notes advanced crit and looks more closely* With the exception that his hips don't seem to be aligned on each side. His left leg in particular is the bother: it looks like it's sticking out from the bottom of his left ribcage (IE, fudged-anatomical way of saying it looks too high up his torso).
