Description
My full color Nightmare Menagerie images are no longer the main focus of my senior project. I've been strongly advised to pursue pen-and-ink work.I'm trying my best to blend my typical ink-sketching style (see sketchbook-sketchdumps) with the engraving style used for illustration in the 19th century (a la Gustave Dore' )
Composition Finished.
Any serious critiques are welcome.

Well holy crap. I am sorry you're changing you're focus, but I'll say your new focus is well-chosen.
Your line work is precise and your shading is beautiful. And I'm not saying this because I could even APPROACH the skill displayed, but try try try to get those backgrounds lines absolutely straight. That's the only flaw, if there is one.
Also, maybe give the top skull a teensy more dimension, along with the claws. The claws look a little blank in comparison, but maybe that the way you planned it.
