I think the piece. Has a nice feels  of texture,  although I am partial to abstract art.

I'm not sure i really get your point. Why an abstract piece couldn't have texture or feeling of texture?
Or maybe were you thinking more about layers.
There's no layer or texture added with photoshop here.
If Ps was used here it's only for the crop and a small edition.
