Description Automan aired from 1983-84
Episodes: 13
Walter Nebicher: Desi Arnaz Jr. ( the son of Lucile Ball and Desi Lou Arnaz aka Ricky Ricardo from I love Lucy )

Automan : Chuck Wagner

Roxanne Caldwell: Heather McNair

Capt. E. G. Boyd: Gerald S. O'LoughlinΒ  ( legend )

Lt. Jack Curtis: Kurt Lansing ( a legend )

So they NEVER mentioned the names of the vehicles Cursor came up with ... those sexy sweet sweet vehicles like the 75 Lamborghini contach ( the car )
or the ( er... Auto copter? ) the ( auto bike? ...) or the sweetest of all that freakin AUTOPLANE! because it's a lamborghini converted into a small plane

that would give Matt Tracker a run for his money! and it appears in the pilot!

Automan aka agent Otto Mann was created by the geek Walter Nebicher who works at the police department's computer lab.

There he summons Automan using his old DOS GUI. A sentient non biological intelligence with a vast capacyto for learning and evolving,

porgrammed to be the ultimate super hero, who also happens to really like blonde girls. He is a solidified hologram provided there is enough

energy in the area needed to sustain his form. He prefers nights to appear because at night people use less energy than the day ( back then )
and he has super strength, can shock enemies with electricity, while being able to walk through walls. AUtoman brings his creator into his world at times

by allowing him to merge with him into his body or riding his amazing vehicles which means nothing can hurt him unless it is a weapon from his world

like in an episode where a murderous hacker genius's lackey ( a hot blonde ) shot Otto with a game gun after he over confidently allowed them to know he was

from teh computer world. This also harmed his creator badly. Otto healed his cels by draining some electrical power. Good as new!
With Automan also comes the unsung and handy dandy hero CURSOR.

A sassy and peppy little compute cursor blip that would desing and create any solid hologram they wanted to suit the need of the situation at hand, be it writing wrongs or Automan rushing to discover a part of human experience. he also does a lot of dancing. He is the damndest friendliest hero ever. He acts super stiff and riggid

the way a newly created being would, even the way he talks but ... THAT BOY CAN DANCE ( see if any one got that refference ) SO yeah over confident, naive,

all around good guy, and he comes off arrogant BUT this is due to him stating cold facts like him being perfect or able to do anything and thinking he can solve anything.

He also speaks to other computers to get any info he needs faster, so instead of hacking he just uses his personality to convince terminals and servers to be opened by chatty computer pals. ( yeah I'm calling him Otto since that's his alias even though he's supposed to be AUTO)

Roxxanne: starts as a love interest to the frustrated Walter who crushes on her hard, but it is played off as just as frienzoned with constant teases though she appears to be dating Walter seeing as they do hold hands at times for no reason. She sees Automan born for the first time and acts as the one to cover for Walter.

Lt Jack: is the badass old man cop who is tough loyal and a badass ( who gets shot constantly, knocked out and kidnapped a lot ) He is still awesome even if he does go off alone to TCB which gets him in trouble and in need of saving. he is very loyal like ROxxane until a guy running for DA framed him and nobody beliebed poor Walter they acted like WE KNEW YOU WERE INNOCENT! ... great friends huh?

Cap Boyd: The hardass foil who constantly acts liek a tool towards Walter since he is an oldschool cop who is starting to realize computers are the future and is forced to accepting their aid, he later on warms up to Walter, still keeping with appearances even if Walter always credits agent Mann for the work done.

Walter: A happy go lucky short nerd who mid series starts kicking ass by doing roundhouse kicks, and judo chops to baddies after getting tired of being beaten up

and kicked around. He created our hero basing him on his idealised personality, his likes and dislikes. He acts like Auto's parent, at times a comic relief by being thrown aroudn each time Automan turns his car, he actually makes 90 degree turns and Otto feels fascinated by Walter not being able to remain in place like he can and human limitations, then remembers Walter is human. I also loved how Otto states Walter is programmed also to do certain tasks which kind of shocks Walter. It's uncanny Valley.

I loved the crap out of that show. and if that show isn't Tokusatsu I don't know what is. I hope it's not remade because it will suck. Some stuff worked better in the 80s

or someone did it better. So yeah it's that Tron influenced tv show which reminds me of Reboot and it's remake which was weird. specially the AI avatar girl who is beyond janky AF in her acting.Β  at times a show is nicer as a rerun than a remake :/ again some stuff does not really get translated to current times. They woudl just make it dark and overly dramatic and it would not be a fun adventure buddy cop show. It would also be very cnvoluted whole the original was simple. and the novelty of the effects was greater back then though not enough to continue. I will try to make these BUT again I only do stuff I watch, and I gott abe motivated.

I was gonna do Inframan but I remembered I saw it and I never really liked it. STILL! I will try to watch the movie AGAIN and do a little MOCK poster.

Great work in detailing that series, and Icouldn't agree more: it was unique, and it was good as it was-- a remake would just take away everything that was good in it (as happened with the Bionic Woman).

I remember bionic woman was a sad disaster. hey modernized it and made it dark edgy and depressing and I hated every bit of it

enough not to continue past the pilot, this being said I can't truly feel fit to chastise it but it annoyed me.
Lost in Space was a campy show , product of the 60's scifi with a comedy, chemistry, magic and endearing

quality that falls flat in nthe new one which I did watch. What I saw was a scifi show similar to lost in space

and I can be ok with it since they were aware they would fail if they tried like the movie did. specially on Dr Smith.

it was "meh" for me and felt it dragged on too much.
I remember a guy who said that doing the work properly would appease a few and not the whole og fanbase ( which is the crowd that can afford the swag,) I mean people who religiously follow, Slayer, Phish, Grateful dead, GWAR, kiss would not go to the concert if they began singing hiphop and used dubstep in order to attract a new crowd, they would lose fans and feel betrayed, hence people making 3 hour long essays on why the new SJW trillogy sucksΒ  orΒ  seeing transformers introduce a skatebarding dog bot with sunglasses, with a speech impediment and a surfboard with inline skates shouting XTREME BRO!
