Description
reguarding creative commons and fair useread this:
[link]
its protected under spoof.
Ironman is property of MARVEL/ Disney
and the rest are all copyright DC comics.
This contains in-jokes only comic fans get
Basically I drew it while people got around to asking me for a signature or watched people who wouldn't buy our comics and kept coming up with the strangest excuses
here is one:
"I'm a wiccan and my beliefs prohibit me from buying your comic."... said the man cosplaying FMA with a bag of other comics.
This is the result of artistic frustration mixed with boredom and too many anime and DC cosplays
(a man cosplaying wonderwoman)
comicons are hard specially if you are left to sign a comic
alone and you have very few friends there.
shit flinging in this business is why I hate drawing comics n here in the first place. We are brothers...act like it
boricuas stick together not roll in discord
so yall stop shit flinging... it's as childish as this pic lol
c'mon!
"Behold and see
how great it is when brothers and sisters dwell in unity"

I love it Sir, especially when you "keep it real", I mean, if I have an X-ray vision, I'd be a hypocrite if I say I won't use it to peek at some hot girls!

Oh yeah, I agree Sir, I never thought it could be used for medical purposes... Uhmm, so I wonder why Supes hasn't done it? Being a hero doesn't always mean having to save the world, but also applies to saving one life!

in a comic book he actually tells a guy he has a tumor in his brain
gently, he wants to try using his powers to save him but he cant, in another
story arc Metropolis shows that crime sindicates do an underground
system through toilets to dump drugs and contraband flushing them
and they lead to parts of the subway because they all know superman wont use his xray
to spy on people, and it had been going unnoticed for years until the Question ( now dead) started dealing with them. Another story Superman shut down because he wanted to do world peace bu wasnt able to because of some weird technicalities and he was frustrated, Batman also tried the same using his money but couldnt help everyone at once in a nightmare he had.

Wow, I didn't know it sir, me and my big mouth But not all Superman books reach our shore so I'm using it as an alibi
Thanks for the infos Sir, now I learned something again, it matters a lot for a comicbook nerd like me!

no worries I rant about comics allot XDI hope I didnt give the impression of being condescending nor upset. I just yammer on about comics
but I halted buying them because the stories stopped being good and
became fan service. Then again I got little time for em now
too many clubs to manage >.< I can barely keep up and do my work...
In my island I could rarely find comics unless I traveled long to read em,
then I began ordering them by catalog and through a friend who worked at a comic store. I think the best way to deal with lack of comics is make em liek me and my friends used to. this piece was made wile selling my first color comic.

Haha, I do that alot too Sir.. it's comics which inspired me to try drawing to.
Oh, you are so right Sir, I'm not really into "bold, new direction" ads because I more or less end up being disappointed...
Could it be that because the characters have been around for decades, it's getting harder to come up with new stories, something that haven't done?

There is always something cultural that hasnt been tried.
for example changing the way people see Pynoi culture
by bringing folklore, with fantasy elements. Short stories
about every day life or just like in my country
some do stories of old wives tales like el Chupacabras,
La guinea( witches), el cuco ( boogie man), santeria
native indian legends etc. Its a weird angle but you can also sell those stories
to schools if you take historic things, since its educational,
and you can make it cool and not lame like here where it was all
retarded an kid friendly. hough my country has had some gory writers
and horror writers of the 17th century and 18th so that works too.
Historical figures are usualy fun. all you need to do is figure out how
you wanna tell it in a way you say well I would read this if I was in school and bored instead of that stupid history book. Ive seen about 2 Philipino movies
and they were good spefcialy espiritista, I forgot the other one,
but its a start

Yes Sir, and if I may add, that's why American "horror" movies commonly features a serial killer, on countries like us it's more like the supernaturals right? (BTW, chupacabras have our own version called 'sigbin')... Cultural differences yet when brought from a foreign land to another and vice-versa, will be something refreshing and unique.
It's really fun talking to someone like you Sir, as you explore some things that I haven't thougth in a while, and surely help me as an artist
Wow, thank you so much for watching some of our movies, Sir... I must confess though, it's more of cheesy ones right now, it's what will "sell" as you put it, rather on stories so I enjoy watching indie movies that are not restricted by some laws, after all being an artist is pursuing artistic vision right?(Kyle Rayner taught me that)
It's not like you will always ask for the viewers to approve on what you're doing...

true
you can work your way around any situation when yer creative
Kyle is a cool lantern being a comic geek himself.
I say in your case go for it and instead of others watching your movies
have em read your comics its a battle but if you love what you do it's
worth it. A Malay/ Chinese artist is making his own comic there
and he is brutally talented imo, he never thought he could enter top companies but he is making his own comic. If you get sponsors and offer ads for them in the comic
it pays itself I dont do comics anymore just covers cuz I'm lazy XD

Oh jeez, that is very true.. but unfortunately I lack in creativity Sir, like designing a character, background and the likes
Oh yes, and Kyle Rayner is an artist too! He is my most fave GL!
Actually Sir, I am not a professional artist yet, but hopefully one day and I will surely keep your words inside my mind
I checked him out, he is awesome, he's got unique style!!!
I feel you Sir, sequential art can really get boring at times... I guess I'm lazy too like I did a personal manga and finished it after 3 years, then I started one again last year, haven't finished it 'till now. God knows when I will have the drive to continue it

I might have not been on a booth in comic conventions, but I know what you mean. The guys at ComiCon in San Diego put up with the weirdest, nastiest, assholes I've ever met in my life. They put up the stupidest bullshit thinking they can coy the artist and scoff at their art behind their backs if they're not famous. It sucks, I feel bad for you guys. Especially, since one of those assholes was my fiance's friend... It was embarrassing.

eep!
damn...
one scary thing was a person reading our comic
after saying it was crap right before me they layd silent
then they laughed... after the chuckle I said
see... you laughed...
they put it back and left quietly... I wish i had a Sony mini DV cam with me taping it.
this was at a convention hall where the guy who played Chewbaca was at, best cosplay was the flash. nice guy too.
I always try to bring unity in those
sadly it was BYO food and BYO real friend to the cons... meaning I was hungry and alone most of the time
