Description
I started this one back in Easter, but only just found time to finish it off. Itβs a tribute to the Amiga classic Cannon Fodder β one of my all-time favourite games and just as much fun to play now as it was back in 1993.

*ambient sounds, bird chirp*
*machine gun sounds*
*scream of a dying soldier*
*more machine gun sounds*
*continuous single screams of soldier in agony*
*single gunshot sound*
*silence*
*sound of a grenade being thrown*
*explosion of a house with; door falls out*
*"Mission complete" jingle*

Yep... Pretty much. Apart from my groan of pain and disbelief when the trooper I'd been trying to get up to a high rank gets hit by that one... stray... bullet.

Go up to your brother, kill him with your gun.
Leave him lying in his uniform, dying in the sun.

"And on a more serious note: don`t try playing this at home, kids, because war is not a game - war, as Cannon Fodder demonstrates in it`s own quirky little way, is a sensless waste of human resources and lives. We hope that you never have to find out the hard way."

Indeed! I've still got the manual with that written in. I was lucky enough to get it signed by Jon Hare and the late Richard Joseph.
Brilliant game... and just as much fun to play now as it was 20 years ago.

But the level of difficulty is "Nintendo Hard", typical for old games.

Thanks. That was what I was going for - my biggest difficulty is incorporating enough movement in my artwork, and I knew that this one would especially fail if I didn't manage to keep everything pretty dynamic.

I always play the games before doing a tribute, just to jog my memory... I really enjoyed going back to CF. I ended up playing it right through.
