Firstly, thanks for the compliment, glad you liked it.  

Secondly, I think you underestimate just how strong Swellow was man. In the game Goodra is definitely many times stronger than Swellow but we're talking about the anime here where the logic is very different. If we count the important battles (gyms and tournaments) Goodra only battled three times. 1 win, 1 loss, 1 draw. Never knocked out more than 1 pokemon in any of these battles. Only other significant match it had was a double battle against Tierno which it won along with Pikachu.

Now let's talk about Swellow, it was the pokemon with the 3rd longest time in Ash's active party. And fought many more matches than Goodra,  keeping the win rate high is much more difficult with such a higher sample size, it still had a 60% win rate. Now that doesn't sound so impressive until you notice that he actually never lost before taking out at least one pokemon, sometimes two pokemon (only exception being against latios). All of his losses came when he was tired and damaged from a previous battle, fully fresh Swellow (no previous damage taken) has a win rate of 87.5%. Swellow would consistently brush off super-effective moves because of how his 'Guts' ability worked in the anime and that made him very op. Let's see how he performed against gym leaders/frontier brains and in the pokemon leagues.

1. Defeated shiny Swellow in 1v1 gym battle.
2. Defeated Lunatone and Solrock in a double battle (disadvantageous type match-up both offensively and defensively) and used Pikachu's electric as an armor because he didn't have any fucks to give, created a whole new move called thunder armor, if that aint badass idk what is.
3. Defeated Whiscash before losing to Milotic in his 3rd gym outing.
4. In the first match of Ever Grande conference took out Venomoth and Scizor one after another before falling to Walrein.
5. In the next match tied against a Gligar.
6. Very next match it took out Hariyama, then defeated Donphan after taking multiple roll-outs to the face, proceeded to crack Metagross' armor before losing to it. Again doing all the heavy lifting for Ash's otherwise useless hoenn Team. Grovyle lost to Metagross and Pikachu could only defeat it because of that crack. This was probably Swellow's biggest feat.
7. Win against Swampert and Arcanine in double battle in battle frontier.
8. Win against Venusaur in battle frontier.
7. Lost to Latios in the Lily of the valley conference semi final, first time losing before taking out at least one enemy pokemon. 

If you go back and rewatch the hoenn episodes, Swellow was a better performer than Sceptile for quite a while (Sceptile defeated Deoxys and Darkrai so definitely he is stronger). None of Ash's other pokemon excluding the regional mvps have feats like Swellow.
Not trying to change your opinion, just pointing out how underestimated and overlooked my boi Swellow actually is.
