This photo was taken by Chris Dzombak after the May 14 performance of A Very Potter Sequel. The guy I'm hugging is Nick Lang, one of the writers/directors/actors/puppet designers from the show.I keep telling people that AVPS changed my life, and they think I'm being melodramatic, but I am entirely serious. There was a time in my life when I was suicidal, and a major part of that stemmed from the feeling that I was invisible. I felt like no one could see me or hear me, and to see if this was really the case I would stop speaking and see how long it took for someone to notice (I once got to six days and gave up the experiment). The way the cast treated me was the exact opposite of that. It was a great example of how far I've come mentally and emotionally, and I think that's part of why I walked away from that theater with so much joy and self-confidence.

They really are. The dark, twisted side of me keeps thinking that they'll eventually do something that is not awesome, but so far they seem incapable of being anything less than amazing. They are unbelievably gracious to their fans and I love them for it.

I am sooo jealous that you got to see it live and meet the actors! I did get to watch avps the day it came on youtube though. Harry Potter, whether it be AVPM or AVPS or AW, seems to always have a positive affect on people. If I read/watch it when I'm feeling down, I instantly feel better. Harry Potter is just that awesome that it can save lives.

I've lost track of how many times I've read about HP helping people, and I know there's probably 300x as many people that I haven't heard about. It really is an amazing series, and it's inspired some equally amazing things like AVPM/S.

Joe Moses was recently in an interview where he said that StarKid would have "a much stronger presence" over the next few months. They went to a fan con last year and two this summer, so maybe they'll do another one next year. Just keep an eye out.

You can sign up for the email newsletter here: [link] There were different levels of registration for Infinitus--I only signed up for one day, which was $45 (but I later bought a $65 ticket to a special dessert), but I had friends who purchased the highest level, which was $400. Those prices are just for registration, though. I honestly believe you when you say AVPS changed your life! I really, really do. I was having a major bout of depression (I have a lot of problems, similar to the ones you described) and I signed onto my email one day, and this actor that I adore to its and freaking BITS had added me on myspace!! I had friended him first, but he hardly ever accepts anyone. I am not one of less than fourty friends, and it's just made my mind go -whoa -

I'm sorry that you experienced something similar, but I'm glad that you had something to cheer you up so much. I think that a lot of celebrities don't realize how much they can influence the lives of their fans, and it's always heartwarming to hear how someone made such a difference like your actor did for you.

I had some hard times after finishing 5 years of study in biotechnology and realising it's not what I want to do in life. I had no 'harry potter' to hold on too but I rediscovered DA and found support for my art here. I didn't give up and now I earn my living with my art : ]
