"i am the thread that decides the fate of dimensions. the harbinger of destruction. think you that your world is too important to be destroyed? fool, there are billions more like yours..."

This is thread.

thread is being that sees to the destruction of dimensions. the hairs on his body are constructed of "life threads", things that track the life span of every dimension that ever existed. when a dimension dies, thread is able to sense it, and using the life thread respective to that universe, tracks it down and absorbs the residual energy, turning it into more life thread, which he hands off to the seer. the seer recycles the energy and gives it to thread's partner, needle, who proceeds to sew together a new dimension using the recycled remaining energy from several universes to create an entirely new one.

because the seer individually creates new dimensions on his own on a daily basis, as well as allows needle and thread to recycle the energy from dying universes to make new ones, the hairs on his body are constantly burning and growing back, leaving a fine black dust around him at all times.

thread has a different ideology than needle. while needle views life as being the ultimate symbol of hope, thread views the fleeting moments before a dimension's collapse to be much more awe inspiring. unlike his partner, needle, who tends to stay around the seer, only leaving when given permission, thread usually finds himself at the side of the various death gods he finds throughout the nexus of dimensions, whether he asked permission or not, as he finds that their company is much more favorable, given his view.

it's unknown how he can destroy entire dimensions. the gods believe he devours them whole before giving the residual energy to the seer. more often than not, if thread hangs around a dimension for too long, it's considered a sign that their dimension is going to collapse soon.

thread has no inherent form per say. forged from the largest black hole in the deepest reaches of the oldest living dimension, he his kept in his current form through the use of the jewelry on his body which has been enchanted by the seer to maintain a pphysical form. similar to the seer, he can see any dimension he pleases, but unlike the seer, he can only view a few at a time. like his partner, he can create astral projections of himself, so telling whether or not the one you see in your dimension is the real thing is almost impossible.

fighting with him is....probably a bad idea. unlike needle, who tends to avoid fighting when possible, thread has no problem eliminating those who believe they can defy the fate set before them. using his powers to drain the life from their body, all he leaves behind is lifeless withered shell of his former opponent.

while needle and thread seem to get along most of the time, they tend to differ on a lot of key issues, making them at odds when they find themselves in the same dimension. needle is viewed as being a symbol of hope, where as the coming of thread is viewed as a mark of doom.
