Dr. Carlos Blake, a character created for me by the amazingly-talented - the author of the comic 'Coming Storm' - for my Gryphon Paladin series.

Name: Dr. Carlos Blake

Age: 28 years old

Gender: Male

Species: Human (former); Hydra Changeling (current)

Carlos was a recently-graduated physician that had started to look for a job. The loans for his studies were extensive and he needed to start paying them off. It was at this time that he was contacted by a mysterious private organization that made him a very generous offer he couldn’t refuse. At the time, he thought that it was a good way to pay off his loans.

What he did don’t know was that this private organization kidnapped mystics for profit and they hired him to collect the tissue samples and parts for sale. Several times he tried to resign, but by then they wouldn’t let him leave; he knew too much.

Unfortunately for him, greed grew within the group and they sought to use a powerful mage to increase the regeneration of the Mystics captured so they could collect samples faster. For this purpose, the mage decided to use Hydra’s blood for his experiments. If they could replicate a Hydra’s regenerative powers using one’s DNA, they could increase production exponentially.

Because of his attempts at escape, Carlos became a part of these experiments. Through magic and the use of potions, they turned him into a Hydra Changeling, so that the group could have access to an unlimited supply of Hydra blood

After he was rescued by the Silver Claw, he has been trying to find a reason and purpose in his new life. After all, even if he was forced to hurt all of those Mystics, he can’t forgive himself for doing it. In a way, he sees his new existence as atonement for his actions.
