This image was born in my mind when listening to the song "Dance of the Wild Faeries" (by Gary Stadler and Wendy Rule).

From Wikipedia: "A fairy ring [...] is a naturally occurring ring or arc of mushrooms. [...] Fairy rings are the subject of much folklore and myth worldwide. While they are often seen as hazardous or dangerous places, they can sometimes be linked with good fortune."

The usual folklore most often refers to dancing fairies in these rings. Instead, I imagined a birthplace of fairies.

In other folklore, ferns are somehow related with the birth of fairies, so I had to place two ferns here too.

As always, I made this image without any photo manipulation. This is a completely synthetic world and characters that I imagined and created in a 3D virtual environment. It was rendered in Vue.
