Description
If you've read 'The Wise Man's Fear' you'll know who/what Cthaeh was. This scene was inspired by the encounter between Kvothe and Cthaeh, while he was in Felurian land. I chose to depict Kvothe in the most traditional look he has throughout the book (at least in my mind) although at the time of this encounter he didn't have his lute with him (nor any clothes, for that matter...). In some other details I was also not completely faithful to the scene in the book (the path deviated more from the tree, for example, but that didn't work visually in one single still image). The clouds were also not present in the book but I thought it worked well for the concept.Rendered in Vue, as always.

Beautiful work! I love the strong light hitting the middle of the field, it gives the sense of a presence off to the right of the image.

I haven't read 'the wise man's fear', so I don't know how it fits to the story, but the picture in itself I do like a lot.
To me it feels like there's a thunderstorm coming closer and the last warm sunlights being swept away. I love such weather (when I'm safe and sound in the garden at home^^)

Great use of lighting in this one. Really makes one think of those late afternoons casting long shadows across the ground. And the cloudy sky looks very dramatic too, almost gives the feeling of wanting to return home now before cold weather sets in And the main tree looks great

Wow, this is so beautiful. I have not read the book yet, but I love the light with its sharp shadows and the dramatic clouds. This is definitely a place, where I would like to be.

I'm not sure what it is, but this pic is... overwhelming. In a good way, I'm sure, but all the same...
That's a sign of its quality, if that helps.

This is... just stunning. It seems like a photograph, it's so realistic. If someone didn't know that this was digitally created, I think that there would be no doubt in their minds that it was real, even though it's so surreal. It's breathtaking, it's beautiful - so many adjectives I could apply to this. xD To sum it up, I just love it.
