Description First of all, thanks for all the comments and faves in previous images. I haven't had the time to answer each comment, please forgive me for that. My real life just barely gives me time to create images and some times I have to prioritize. I hope you understand.

I hope you enjoy this new image. If you like this, you might like to download the original (button on the right), it's fairly big and shows details much better.

This is a sequel to this one: [link]

Made in Vue, as usual.

This image was the real trigger for me for getting Vue Pioneer (free release). That was february 19th, 2013 ...
We're march 16, 2013 and now, I have Vue 11 Esprit with 8 modules (ecoPainter, AdvancedGraph, Botanica, ...) and I quickly figured out that Vue only wasn't enough for getting what I want. So here I am, learning how to use GeoControl2, re-installing a bunch of old 3d softwares and spending HOURS in front of my computer's screen.
Grrrrrrr! Mr ArthurBlue ... I hate you!

I'm sorry... But at the same time I'm really happy that this image motivated you for all that.
I know the beginning can be hard, with so many things to learn. But it's very rewarding when you see your ideas coming to life. Places that existed only in your mind, now appearing in your computer screen.
If you have some doubt about some aspect of Vue, you can write me an email to artur.rosa@gmail.com and I'll try to help.

Really?! That's very interesting because it also looks a lot like some parts of Portugal. I live very near a place like this.

Yes we have ridges like that with pine and fir forests Many go from north to south and were formed by glaciers during the end of the ice age about 10 000 years ago. We call them "harju" or "soraharju". I think they are called esker in english.
Interesting to know there is something similar in Portugal

Is this way real or did you copyied it and created this wavelike landscape?
... but its awesome anyway ...

ArthurBlue In reply to DunkleMaterie [2011-05-02 21:10:18 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!
I didn't copy anything here. This is purely CG. I made this with Vue, which is a specialized program for landscape creation. The terrains, the forest, clouds, everything was done inside that program.

I don't know how or what you do on render settings or in the settings generaly but in my opinion you have some of the most realistc renders here in DA. I'm always looking forward to see what your next project will be. Go on mate!!!

Looked nice in the thumbnail view, but I got a bit disappointed when I saw the large one and thought it was a photo. So yeah. That's a photorealistic success. Visually pleasing as well.
Bloody nice work.

ArthurBlue In reply to villekroger [2010-09-17 23:39:09 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I was a bit intrigued by your comment. Would you please elaborate a bit on it? I'm not sure if I understand why you were disappointed with the large version. Thanks a lot!

villekroger In reply to ArthurBlue [2010-09-27 00:22:01 +0000 UTC]

Well, after the "Oh, it's a photo"-stage came the "No it isn't"-stage.
A shortly lived disappointment, if any.

pretty epic scene mate
did you use material painting in the terrain editor?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ArthurBlue In reply to AgentWills [2010-09-14 19:10:14 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Yes, I used material painting to initiate the creation of the distribution map for the road and for the road margins. This map was later on refined in PS and reapplied into the material.

This is a beautiful place, and I feel like I've been there

The road is just straight enough to feel slightly surreal - as though this may all be in a dream

Amazing,as usual. It's insanely impressive. Your images seem so lonely with one little figure lost in the huge world with miles to go before they get anywhere. Is that a metaphor for your like, perchance? Just curious.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ArthurBlue In reply to Joelglaine [2010-09-14 19:12:32 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I never think about the motivations and triggers for my images. I just let them flow free. If I think too much, I fear the flow could stop.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Joelglaine In reply to ArthurBlue [2010-09-14 20:31:25 +0000 UTC]

I think about every thing while I'm doing it and after. It doesn't even slow for a MOMENT my flow of stuff! It's like throwing pebbles into a flood. Just causes splashes but doesn't slow diddly!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ArthurBlue In reply to Joelglaine [2010-09-14 20:59:54 +0000 UTC]

Maybe you'd be surprised at the images that you could achieve if, instead of thinking, you just feel...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Joelglaine In reply to ArthurBlue [2010-09-15 00:31:08 +0000 UTC]

I do and feel first, and think about the feeling afterwards and before. Otherwise, I'd never find anything out of 122,238 poser files without planning the library structure so I can do almost an image a day!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ArthurBlue In reply to Joelglaine [2010-09-15 08:47:41 +0000 UTC]

I think we're talking about different things...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Joelglaine In reply to ArthurBlue [2010-09-15 09:33:09 +0000 UTC]

I think about the image. Then I reflect on where the image comes from. I think about my motives and purpose for the image. I think about how to do the image and what I can use that I already have to make that image and if I need to make or buy additional things for the image.

If you're thinking of something different, tell me now!

I really like this one... I used to live in an area which had a long road like this which seemed to end in the clouds. It makes you want to make the walk just to see what's on the other side...
