Description
Life is made of circles...This image was made in Vue, with a little help from Poser for the figure. Rendered in Vue, very little postwork (basically some levels correction).

Thank you, you're very kind. Yes, it is made entirely in Vue. I guess the key is to never be too early satisfied with what you get.

If I were to pick up this program (I'm a Photoshop buff only), are there good mentors or tutorials you know of out there that teach well?

Vue is completely different from Photoshop. Vue is purely 3D. You build an entire scene, create objects, define the sky, the water, etc, all as material and function settings. Then you move the camera around and take as many "photos" as you like, from whatever position you like (that's called "rendering", and they can take a few hours of waiting). I have a good example of this, the images "Old Road" and "Companion". The same scene, different camera positions and settings.
You have some excellent tutorials at www.geekatplay.com (they even have a tutorial I made around my image "I can see the sun").
Another good source for tutorials is www.cornucopia3d.com (check out the "Classroom" section). There's also a tutorial of mine there (search for "Making of Sic-Transit").
This should give a pretty good idea of what Vue is about.
Have fun!

Very much appreciated Arthur - I've seen some absolutely stunning images from artists using that program. I would suggest yours are some of the best I have ever seen. Thanks again for the links!

Dream-like and mystical. Beginning and end become the same on the sea of life. Where the clouds meet the sea is where dreams begin and end.
DAMMIT! I need a thesaurus to keep up with making comments on your stuff!
