Don't make any mistakes. This is the episode that made me quit watching new episodes of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends.This is not an attack on anyone who did like this special. I'm just explaining myself.
Thomas and Friends belongs to Mattel.
Mister Grumpy belongs to the Hargreaves family.

The main problem with Season 22 onward is the following question: Why is Thomas travelling around the world again?!

They even made up a child who said the following quote:
"Trains go to places. Thomas is a train, but he never goes anywhere."
I said "Made up" because I doubt that kid even existed. Besides, if Thomas didn't go anywhere, he'd be stuck in the shed all the time, and that'd be even less entertaining than watching glue dry.

Not to mention, Season 22 onward even had several rancid morals like.... "Don't stand up to bullies", they did have the moral "Change is a good thing", but the way they used that moral, they were insinuating that change is always good, unaware that sometimes, change can be extremely extremely bad.
They did remove Edward and Henry from Tidmouth Sheds. I do understand Edward's removal, because he has his own shed at Wellsworth, but Henry's removal was just forced. It would've made more sense if Thomas and Percy were removed from Tidmouth Sheds.

I think Rebecca should've moved to Vicarstown Sheds. And Nia move to Ffarquhar Sheds in Daisy's berth since Daisy now works on the Harwick Branch Line.
If they really wanted to add this girl power, they could've replaced Edward with Rosie due to how much the marketing loves her, and replace Thomas with Molly and Percy with Lady, and flesh them out.
Of course many argue that James should've been kicked out of the sheds for destroying them out of carelessness. (believe me, Apology Impossible sometimes makes me feel that way)

Which they did in Season 20 with the Minimum Gauge Engines. Which gave me hope for more Railway Series characters, but the changes killed my hope.

But now, I just want Thomas to end. Not just because of these unnecessary changes, but because it's been on for over 35 years now.
People accepting these changes is to an extent beyond me, and some of them are even buying the new merchandise to keep the show going rather than to trigger those who hate the new merchandise.
Hmm.... I guess they want Thomas to end up like The Simpsons, a show that's also been on too long. I gave up on that series after that braindead Apu controversy.

My answer: Because they screw up the design!

I did hear at an MIP conference the year the changes were announced that they showed the Awdrys the new material, and they claim that "The Awdry family liked it."
I bet Mattel were lying about the Awdrys' reactions. Sometime before Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released, LucasFilm claimed that George Lucas liked that movie, but later, it turned out to be a lie.

Well, I know you're still skeptical about watching new episodes. But let me say that one thing you can at least give that special credit is that finding out that David Stoten becoming the new head writer was interesting.

ikr Oliver, Donald and Douglas, Duck, The Narrow Gauge Engines you name it while the Steam Team does have members I love like Edward, Nia, James, Emily and Gordon it still a terrible concept and you know what I think Edward better off not being on the Steam Team I actually love him more now since he his own character as Hunt The Truck showed and same can be said for Henry too so take that you stupid Nia and Rebecca haters.

They can stay in Tidmouth Sheds, but James briefly leave due to destroying them, and Emily can stay too, as can Rebecca. And Nia can leave for either Thomas' branch line or back to Africa.
My issue with Nia is.... why isn't her shed there anymore?
