The ulitmate battle begins.Rivalry List:
1-Ryu vs Liu Kang(obviously)
2-Kyo Kusanagi vs Kung Lao(Yeah you were probably expecting Ken Masters, but hey this ain't Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat, this is Capcom/SNK vs Mortal Kombat. Besides, I wanted to try something different.)
3-Chun-Li vs Sindel(Strongest Female Fighter vs Strongest Female Fighter)
4-Mai Shinurai vs Kitana (Strongest Female Ninja vs Strongest Female Ninja obviously)
5-K' vs Kabal (Bad asses with speed)
6-Vanessa vs Sheeva (Female Powerhouses)
7-Guy vs Chameleon (Strongest Male Ninja vs Strongest Male Ninja)
8-Cammy White vs Sonya Blade (Girls From the Military)
9-Dan Hibiki vs Johnny Cage (Joke Characters who are hilarious, have some cool moves sometimes, who sucks, but we still love, mostly good ol' Dan. Actually I'd place my money on Dan to win cause let's face it, Johnny sucks and I don't mean that in a good way. Saikyo Rules Baby. )
10- Joe Higashi vs Kano (Also Joke Characters who are hilarious, have some cool moves and sucks, but we also love. Yeah I know what you're gonna say, Blanka would've made a better rival for Kano. Hey, anybody can more than one rival you know.

1. Ryu vs Liu Kang; Winner: Liu Kang

Ryu would win, cause come on its ryu
Chun-li win beat sindel cause she's fighting a granny. Plus there's a reason why chunky is called the strongest female fighter.
Kyo and kung Lao can either way.
Mai would beat kitana cause first off mail was the first to use fans attacks, which kitana stole. Don't believe me go to fighters generations.com and go to there character profile.
Vanessa vs sheeva can go either way .
Dan would beat johnny. Yes, I said it Mr saikyo can beat the cage. I mean at least dan the strongest woman from his series(chun-li) unlike johnny who got his ass kicked by sindel(a.k.a strongest female from Mk series)
Guy vs chameleon can go either way.

No way , Liu Kang would win, he is a better fighter than ryu, he cconstantly takes down Sorcerers, monsters, demons and literal gods while Ryu struggles against people like Ken, Sagat, Guile etc. Just because Ryu is more famous dosen't mean he will win. Sindel has millennia years more experience in battle than Chun Li, age dosen't define fighting skill In the MK9 storyline Sindel killed multiple opponents by herself All of which were much younger. Since Chun Li is fighting a "granny" by that logic I could say Johnny Cage beats Goken because Goken is a Grandpa. Just because mai was the first dosen't mean anything. Honestly that match can go either way.

What? Liu kang better than ryu? Are you serious? Ry has fought plenty powerful adversaries. Bison, Seth, akuma, gill. Plus Gill's and Akuma's power can and has rival the powers of any demon, mister, or so called gods. speaking of demons, you do realize both ryu and akuma have demonic powers within them right? I mean the two fought asura for goodness sakes, and yes he's a god too. Also, he fought ppl that uses magic, or did you forget that dhalsim is a witch doctor that uses magic. Maybe not on shang tsung's or quan chi's level, but magic none the less. Oh BTW, it's got nothing to do with popularity. Now as for sindel, yes i know old folks have skills, but here's the thing. Sindel need to absorb shang's power in order to be a match against the heroes in mk9. Chunny never had to use that kind of tactic. And yes certain ppl may have many years of experience fighting, but that doesn't mean they can't still get there ass whooped though.

not to mention if you add on the power of the Dragon, I know he has fought tough opponents but he struggles against those guys I mentioned, He had to cheap shot Sagat to defeat him, and was knocked out by Ken in one of the tournaments. Even though Ryu has fought tough Liu has fought tougher, Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, Goro, Shao Khan, Shinnok. Yes he did fight Dhalsim but like you said he is not on Shang Tsung or Quan Chi's level. To be fair all Quan Chi really did was resurrect Sindel.

That is the only thing that they have to compare, after that they are entirely too different, I think K' vs Fei Long would be better matchup even though K' would still win. Both fire users, and practice similar styles. Also where are Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Shao Khan, Raiden, Jax. Bison, Akuma, Guile, Iori, Ash, etc?
