Description
I had a dream many years ago
It made me toss, to and fro
I wake to find me on the floor
As my mother opens the door

She asked what was wrong
And I couldn't tell
I saw my life 10 years from now
It's a living hell

I cut myself and bleed I cried
She said no it's all a lie
I try to fall asleep instead
I think of what it's like to be dead

I take a knife, sharp and keen
Wipe it off to make it clean
And as I took it to the flesh
I suddenly felt refreshed

And many years later I look around
It seems my dream has come to town
An empty sadness no tears to shed
Only the marks from where I've bled

My mother asked why do such a thing
I can't hear the angels sing
And down I went into the dark
Sitting alone in the room white stark

And now with lines renewed
I ask myself why be so lewd
I don't have it bad, quite well in fact
The loneliness I reply back

So now I sit alone tonight
Holding fresh wounds tight
Hoping I may find a light
To gain back a happy sight

It doesn't hurt so much anymore
The blood can't even call the floor
And now I lay myself to rest
May sleep hold me as the best

I dream now a dream
Much like back then
Oh how I wish
To be held again
By an angel's mercy
By a friends embrace
Yet here I sit
And both no trace...
