Description Once upon a time there was a boy and a girl.  They liked each other.  But they never told one another. One day, the boy said, I like you, and the girl, shocked and bright eyed replied, I like you too.
They liked each other for a few years.
But one day, the boy had to go to a city far away with his father.  His grandfather needed someone to run the family shoe business.
I will come back from this village far away in two years and when I return I will marry you, is what the young boy said.
The boy began his journey by sailing the seas.
It was abruptly staggered.
The boat was caught in a storm and crashed off course killing his father, but he managed to land only a few miles off course.
He managed to stagger to his feet, come to his senses and forget what just happened, and keep moving forward.
Upon his walk along the shore to the port, he saw mermaid flittering playfully in the water of a shallow pond.
He asked her, what is your name, you are beautiful.
It is Samury, the mermaid responded, and you are injured.
The mermaid healed him and kissed his cheek swimming off.
He knowing this was a chance encounter, gained an acquaintance, and a friend.
He made it to the port and took a carriage ride to the village with a young princess named Kailynn.
They talked and became very close.
Upon arrival to the city, he found her consultancies well and helpful every so often, but never enjoyed his sincerely platonic relationship over the first year.
The next year was only more hazardous to his floating life-raft of a life.
He stayed in a working relationship with a meager contract at her hip, and no occurrences of actual spark in any seemingly romantic instances.
The two year anniversary was a month away when he decided to book a trip back to his small village.
He packed his things, sold the company and returned to the village.
The boy, now man, went back looking for her.
When he found her he looked in her eyes and he said I love you.
She, in turn said…

i didnt see my brother for two years and had to ask him personal questions to verify his identity, my own brother.

well first glance the answer would be "i love you too" but if u want to add more a twist to the story then u could have it as her crying and saying she had found someone else, and walked off. but yeah depends if u want a happy ending or a sad one...

other wise the story is really really cute. love it!
