She crossed my mind just nowShe left a wake of beautiful things
A meadow of flowers, daisies and daffodils
With a soft breeze on my cheek
I can almost remember her smile
I can almost remember her voice
As the sound carried on by the wind
Lives in my heart and mind
My tears don’t hurt like they used to
They just long for her fingers to brush them away
And my eyes can only clench so hard
As I stifle the whimpering
She’s so beautiful
I swear to God she is
I would give the world all I can
If I could just see her smile once more
These now salt stained cheeks were once hers to kiss
As they perked from sheer excitement
And even now my lips curve slightly but weakly
Thinking of her… Just simply her
She left a wake of beautiful things
And those things I swear I’ll hold
I will hold them until I die
Happy, wrinkled, and old
And though she won’t be by my side
I swear to God
In heaven she’ll be my bride…
I miss you…
