You can keep your glitter vampires. Give me a being that can morph into a cloud of bats and burns in sunlight. I studied a picture of Alucard, from Castlevania, Symphony of the Night. I wanted to learn how to draw that expression.

I'm more for vampires that are weakened by the sun rather than killed by it but yea bat swarms are fricking awesome

but we can both agree that no solar effect and sparkling is right out!

Thank you! Bram Stroker's original novel had Dracula doing a whole bunch of strange stuff, like turning into mist, walking casually up the sides of castles, but he also gave him some less popular weaknesses like the inability to cross a large body of water without dirt from Transylvania.

I just listened to an audio book of Carmilla, the very first vampire story. They leave it vague, but she either morphs into a hairy beast or simply remains human and grows hair all over her body when she becomes aggressive at night.

I read the book it was written like a series of letters. I have also seen the black and white movie and bela lugosia was awesome.

Nice. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I know the film and the book are very different. The advantage to writing the book in a series of letters is you get a first person perspective, but since its in letter or diary form in the story, the narrator may or may not survive the plot.

Thank you! I've been making art for a long time, but I suppose I got serious in high school, which was 12 years ago... man I'm getting old!

I remember back in highschool I couldn't even draw faces, or at least the ones I did draw were freaky uncanny valley. Now I sculpt realistic faces for a living, although it still takes a lot out of me.

Same!  Mine always looked like they were warped by water or something haha.  Hey that's really cool!  I wish I could sculpt but I'm lucky if I even get a shape instead of a mushy blob.  If ya got the talent, work it!
