pixel design rules! combined with xml and flash.
Each page of the site has the same design and different layout.
Lots of websites (eg. msn and yahoo) can't do this without mashing up the design.

no, bu i didn't test on my linux system.
Because Macromedia hadn't released any player for Flash 8.
But this is not the problem, you shouldn't devellop thing under prorietary softwares.
This is not accessible, this is not think for the users, but for the money the can earn from.
Free softwares rules!

Firstly, it needs Flash 7 to be viewed.
Secondly, could you please define what you mean by 'not accessible'. By who? Is there anyone who cant load it or cant see it?
You always decide use or not use software or technology by free/proprietary criteria?
And these guys (macromedia aka adobe) earn money not because they 'do not think of the users', but because they DO THINK of users and developers and make best industry standart software. and NO ONE WILL EVER MAKE IT FOR FREE. Someone has to pay for new technologies. We may like or not but that is!
You used word 'users':
>> "this is not think for the users, but for the money the can earn from"
Whom do you mean? What money macromedia earns on users? They earn on developers like me. But I EARN MY LIVING using their technology. Please tell me where is evil here?
Or maybe you can point me to some FREE tecnology that can be substitute for Flash? I really would be grateful to you!
Best wishes.

yep
let's start a great debat on standart
>"Could you please define what you mean by 'not accessible'. By who? Is there anyone who cant load it or cant see it?"
Not accessible, mean that you MUST have flash on your computer.
And yes there are people who can't see it,
You must be aware that 1/2 people on internet have a defficient vision (yes it is HUGE!)
And with latest technologies, blind people can browse internet (voice redaer, or Braille converter)
Those people have right to access the same site we browse every day, so i advice an html version in addition of the flash one.
>"... and NO ONE WILL EVER MAKE IT FOR FREE. Someone has to pay for new technologies. We may like or not but that is!"
That is a false idea, 80% of server are under Apache. Guess what? apache is free and open source!
Same for Php/Mysql, python, firefox.
Moreover now lot of devellopers are working on free sofware, they can deliver the best technologies under GPL license.
>"You used word 'users':
Whom do you mean? What money macromedia earns on users? They earn on developers like me. But I EARN MY LIVING using their technology. Please tell me where is evil here?"
Users are ALL the people of the world, people with new or even brand new comp. Europeen, Americain but also African and Asian poeple.
Rich countries or poor, no matter.
The evil? is the price you have to pay for something that user can't control.
The evil? how it is to crack it, just to spread their monopoly over the market.
>"Or maybe you can point me to some FREE tecnology that can be substitute for Flash? I really would be grateful to you!"
Yes you touch it, because of Adobe, Macromedia, Microsoft... strategy, we have no other choice.
Some people are trying to make a free flash editor, but it remain an HUGE work to be done.
I hope one day Adobe-Macromedia will released thier source code, and give back to the users' community the chance to choose what is good or not for "us".

You are a web communist!
All software for free! Sounds great! Plants to workers, land to farmers, software companies to programmers! ?
Let me ask, are you willing to work for free or for a some fee brought by donations?
If you invent a new technology that can be popular worldwide, that gives you a chance to earn money, what in its turn will allow you to create even better products, would you make it free and open?
I dont think that Macromedia makes evil by creating FREE and ACCESSILBE to USERS technology: flash player is free).
Neither it makes evil by charging for software from developers who EARNS using their software. I think quite a few software engineers worked at Macromedia for free. So without the money they charge from developers there would hardly ever be Flash, Photoshop, etc. etc.
Do you know that Macromedia solely by Flash created earnings for up to 1 million person in the world. Up to 1 million developers worldwide use Flash professionally and earn using it. Is that evil? Probably here you would say that if that would be free software, there were 10 millions developers. But here I repeat that I believe that there would hardly ever be Flash at all.
Software industry is the same industry as any other! Are there companies that give iron FOR FREE?
Following that logic pharmaceutical companies make much more evil earning money on peoples illnesses.
THATS WHAT THE MARKET IS.
And I believe in market.
So, lets not call people that are earning money evil (untill they earn that money without cheating customers or competitors or breaking laws). Dont hate people (companies) just because they earn money creating good software.
I agree that free software thats great! And guys workin on Apache, MySQL, Mozilla etc. are worthy of respect. But that doesnt mean that everyone gotta work for free.
Some facts:
- "Flash Player is installed on over 97% of all internet-enabled desktop computers world-wide" - Stratton Finance
Dont you think thats quite enough to use it?
- Flash IS accessible to people with disabilities - Creating Accessible Content at [link]
- SWF is an open-source format, so there are already lots of sowtware using it.

>"You are a web communist! "
not realy, socialist (original sense i mean) is much closer
>"All software for free! Sounds great! Plants to workers, land to farmers, software companies to programmers! ?"
You made a common mistake, "free" can be OpenSource, free (no sell value) or both!
Yeah that mean software companies to programmers
Like some (most) linux distro are free but enterprise support is not.
Guess what? it works pretty good!
>"Software industry is the same industry as any other! Are there companies that give iron FOR FREE?

yep you are right.
I'm the kind of (crazy) guy, who beleive that phamaceutical research should stay public and not holding by private companies.
Just like software
This is not all about money,
But tommorow Asia will need IT techno then Africa.
But they probably CAN'T pay for that.
Yeah Flash, Windows, Photoshop prices' are damn HUGE!
And Gates (Bill you know) is joking about the 100$ laptop for poor children.
That is the non sens in non open format.
It could serve users, but sometime for economical reason not.
Lets imagine that tommorow, flash is open source,
but you still have to pay for it (a reasonable price of course).
I'm sure that the software improvement, will be incredible.
Interoperability too.
A real win-win status, why not?
Because the could fail to impose their holding with HUGE prices.
Yeah i'm an utopist.
And i work for free as a traductor of Ubuntu Linux distro

Man, I do not want to 'kill' Open Sorce in no way! I like the idea, and definitely I should take a closer look at Ubuntu.
But what if I like the capabilities that offer Flash, 3DS MAX and Photoshop!? The posibilites that offer those soft excites me!
If there are any open source packages that offer at least similar posibilities, I would certainly support it. If I were a software coder maybe I would probably support it even by my work.
But I'm a designer (at least expected to be) and I want to use THE BEST software, thats the MAJOR criteria for me.

flash : not for the moment, propably never until a linux port
3dsmax: blender (great app if you spend time on it)
photoshop : the gimp (it now can use photoshop filter and read write to psd incredible!)
You can also use virtualisation: open a window with your windows in it.
Damn linux is just wonderful!
