Description
Another flash template. Fully xml-customizable. Made in Flash 8. Flash 8 rules! Shadows, glows, 9-slice scale - it was pain in the }{ making such effects in previous versions.Demo available here: artoix.com/jewelry/
UPDATE:
Wow, DD! Thanks a lot to =duhcoolies for suggestion! And ^bornghost for selection. And to all for comments and favs!
You can buy this and many other flash templates at www.myflashxml.com

very very nice !!!
you could emphasize the 3D setting more by making the letters and content drop backwards imo (make them shrink when they are above the template) creating an effect as if they are being put on the template, instead of the shake from left to right at the end and of course the other way around, lifting them up of the template
keep the good stuff coming

Hi artoix,
i think the design is very eye catching and attractive.
However, i am particularly drawn to the effect of elements "flying away" and "flying in" I think it's very cool. However, i'm somehow disturbed by how the animation goes and may i suggest the following for your perusal:
Instead of the elements flying out in full visibility, could ya make them fade out gradually as it fly out of the screen. I feel that this would make the animation look more fluid and smoother.
With the elements in full visibility as it "fly away" create a rather rough effect that ppl may find it distractive.
Haha, i hope i was clear enough.

Thanks a lot for suggestion, but the project is approved and closed. That was a client's wish to add this flying in elements animation.
Anyway, thanks for improving suggestion.. hm... maybe I should take you as a "beta tester"!?

Ahahaha, i will see what i can do. Maybe not now cos everything is in a mess right now for me. Organising and planning the stuff for my portfolio and other proj. takes up too much of my time right now.
Thanks for letting be one.

Really innovative navigation and presentation.
One thing did catch my eye however: I think the sub-tab for "Collection" should have "Earrings" not "Earring" to maintain consistency (as everything else is in plural-form).

Cool and soothing colours-Love them. Just a suggestion :IMo The font that you used in many places (Times New Roman, right?) doesn't really go with the overall look and feel of the site...How about a pixel font or some sans serif font?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
artoix In reply to illusionz [2006-05-05 20:35:31 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! Well, maybe you are right. I just so often use pixel fonts that I decided to vary fonts list, so Times seemed to me quite fine Besides its easy to change it for a client.

one thing: the web 2.0-esque starburst on one of the price markers... a bit tacky, kinda kills the rest of it.
Otherwise, HOT: add some sound if ya can!

it was refused in final version, so there is no this thing in flash.

Very interesting concept there, with some special options slipped in here & there. Seems a bit more like personal site than company/shop site though.
It takes a bit of loading time but not as long as normal flash pages. Very thoughtful.
One little thing caught my attention is that it seems I can't scroll down on the browser (on IE6) with the mouse scroller. It would be more user friendly to browse if it's fixed though.
Overall, it's a well made template. I like it.

you mean you cant scroll the whole page using browser scroll bar? what screen resolution you have?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
pinknina In reply to artoix [2006-05-07 17:33:14 +0000 UTC]
Yes, the browser's scroll bar won't reacted to the mouse's scroll & need to be moved by mouse's pointer. The layout's scroll bar reacted to the mouse's scroll though.
Currently I prefer to use the 800x600 resolution, due to my eye glasses still being fixed.

it seems a little weird to me that the content flies out of the box... to me it would've felt more natural if the the content disappeared at the border of the box and wouldn't just fly across it. and by box i mean the window in the center in which everything is displayed...
but other than that - i think you already know that it looks great

artoix In reply to sh4dow [2006-05-07 14:31:04 +0000 UTC]
well, that was forethought as a pseudo-3D space and so I think it would look weird if elements disappear just at the border of the box and so I made them fly off the stage.

There are plenty of resouces online. Start from actionscript.org.
But actually, if you really want to learn Flash, User Reference is the best manual for learning it, really.
