Watercolour commission for featuring this lovely couple. It's their farewell...Dresses in that time were so beautiful
I tried to make dress matching that time but also I didn't want to copy anything (thus dresses of Scarlet O'Hara were big influence 
) All ornaments on her dress and jewelery are made with metallic watercolor so it shines in the light ^^Commission info:

This is really nicely done.
Kudos for the painting, a medium I cannot work in at all.
Nice pastel palette really compliments the picture, detailing on the grass and the random pattern sky focus the attention on the figures.
Superb work on the crinoline gown. Not easy to draw those kinds of dresses and get the angles and flow of the material right

Watercolors are really tricky - some time ago I tried to paint with them but it was disaster and I abandoned them for few years. Picked them up again around 3 years ago on the occassion of making watercolor calendar for my Grandma and fall in love with them and still I have lots to learn about them
And lately I found new love - colored pencils so almost no time for painting

Did your Grandma love the calendar?
Nothing wrong with feeling the love with coloured pencils, they're awesome. But don't forget you're great with paint, too.

Last year's theme was 'Films and TV', this year's is 'Clone Wars and Rebels'.

Realised I'd said that wrong in the last post.
This year's theme is films / TV, 2018's in Clone Wars / Rebels.
2019's will probably be another animals one or one of just greyscale artwork.
