Description
Though I quite liked the new Godzilla design, there were a couple areas I was a bit unsatisfied with. I’ve been doodling my own concept Godzilla and this is what I came up with. See it without lightning here

I actually didn't mind the nostril placement in the movie until I saw this.. this makes so much more sense seeming he is fairly aquatic. But the feet bugged me the whole time.. they looked like flippin' Barney feet lol. Another thing I thought would have been cool was an illuminaiton of the chest and spines right before his atomic breath... but the lightning idea is very, very, very cool too. Also lovin' the bigger spines.

I'm really enjoying how this last awesome movie is revitalizing the Big G's popularity. I really liked his movies when growing up.

While I can't get behind giving Godzilla such smooth looking skin I rather like the nostrils you gave him. I think they help distance him a bit more from a regular dinosaur looking creature and also makes it look like it'd enable more efficient breathing while maintaining a beam attack. I'd think he'd start choking on fumes and stuff if they were located on the front. I also just noticed the legs. Really cool way of translating the traditional Godzilla thunder thighs into something more functional. Unlike the old design this guy actually looks capable of maintaining a better walking cycle than that of a penguin.

I like the spine effect. The one thing that bothers me is how thin the ankle area is though, considering the amount of weight he has it would shatter beneath his weight the only reason the movie made sense to have those thick trunk legs to support the immensity that is godzilla not to mention it looks like this one is packing a lot of weight on the stomach/torso but it looks like you added a lot of weight to the tail too to balance it.

I used rhinos as a reference point for the ankles, they look fully capable of support to me. Also bear in mind that this godzilla is less than half the height of the movie one, this one being roughly 150 feet tall like the 54' godzilla. Realistically speaking there is no ankle width possible of supporting a creature even half this height. Bones as a structure cannot grow fast enough to support the mass of the rest of a body at this scale.

Oh well forgive me. I only assumed it was suppose to be a direct transformation of the latest one and only considering the height of that one and there wasn't a scale to help me see that fully explained and again my bad, but good job adding the aquatic aspect of it considering it is a much better idea than gills.

I added a little dude next to the feet in mine for a scale. The movie one is a bit harder to tell, but he is around 35 stories tall.

I like it! Unlike the new Godzilla design, which definitely has a lot of crocodilian inspiration, you went for a much more aquatic vibe! I'm definitely seeing some elasmosaurus in the head. I really like that nostril placement! His big ol' hippo legs and feet are a nice touch too.

I wen to see the movie on 4/30/2014 and it panned out respectively despite being 2 hours & 3 mins. The only peeve was Godzilla's feet. They look more elephant in shape, I was hoping for more T-Rex in bone structure. But still awesome work.

I refuse to believe that he accomplished this without sacrificing at least seven goats and a 9 milliliter bottle of baby tears.

Well, the name "gojira" is a mix of the Japanese words for crocodile and whale, so being part whale makes for a rather *ahem* generously-proportioned monster.

Pretty neat! It looks a tad more aquatic than the movie Godzilla, which is a good. Could you maybe possibly do a King Ghidorah redesign? It would be really cool to see.

The higher nostrils make sense for an aquatic creature; your main change seems to move away from the "bear" face and toward Plesiosaur. Forelegs look a bit more flippery too.
