Though I quite liked the new Godzilla design, there were a couple areas I was a bit unsatisfied with. I’ve been doodling my own concept Godzilla and this is what I came up with. See it without lightning here

Pretty good! I think the movie's Godzilla design was really great, but I like this one too. Only complaint I might have is that this one looks a tad too realistic, which reveals the problem of how to actually get something that big in real life. Great work as always, though.

WOW, you did a really AMAZING job drawing this! I just love how detailed and realistic he looks! The electricity effect just makes this piece look really cool! I love how this came out! Really awesome job on this one!

Kind of makes sense for the nostrils to be on top of the head considering Godzilla was represented as an aquatic creature. It would make it easier for him to submerge a little more of his body into the water and still be able to breathe air with just the top of his head poking out of the water...but then there's gills so...I don't know! Lol.

Specifically, what areas were you unsatisfied with?

The neck, nose, tail, spines, toe claws.

The neck was too short, the nostrils didn't have the same care applied as the rest of the body, I wasn't as happy with the tail direction they took, the spines looked much too short in relation to the body, and the toe claws were awfully cartoony looking.

I felt as though they gave Godzilla tortoise feet.

More like Sauropod feet ... they were going with a much more realistic look to Godzilla so they give him some atonomical features to match how a creature like him might actually be. The feet were designed to be weight/load bearing while the elongated tail could act as both a third hind-limb and paddle for swimming. They even gave him gills to show he was aquatic and could live underwater. His skin was most interesting since they designed it to look like the skin cancers and radiation burns that survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki suffered.
