Again; she could have forgotten a bunch of stuff waiting a thousand years, or the word 'fun' could have been created during her banishment.

I'm quite positive that ponies back in the day had the word "fun".

Its more likely Luna simply never got to have any.

Well Luna certainly didn't recognize the feeling of fun neither.
She didn't say something like: "Your Princess likes this... ...fun it reminds me of "Snooo Snooo" the ancient word for fun."
