Description
Based on a photograph from a horse magazine I picked up. This took months of work and it took me forever to figure out what to do for a background. Done with mechanical pencil, charcoal pencil, and erasers.Related content

I worked on the horse for probably a good month. The background went much quicker. It's been a few years since I did this piece!

Well, thank you! This was my first big jump to my current skill level. I had never drawn like that before this piece. Plus, the teacher made us use charcoals. I hadn't used those before either . . . I think yours looks really good, though. You didn't go anywhere near as dark, but you did really well on it.

Maybe it is only the darkness, but the black eats away a lot of the horses cheek and makes his head look a bit too rectangular.
The sheen on the coat showing off those powerfull muscles is just great! Very beautifull work here... fav!
