Description
Pest control on Rikos IV is something that you take very seriously indeed.*************************************************
I spent a number of years as a pest controller, thankfully I never had to resort to this sort of equipment. Then again, I don't think I ever came up against rats this big either.
As always, thanks for stopping by.

This is very well done. Have you perhaps thought of doing one or two more, showing the model from the front?

I can't say I did think of doing any other renders besides the 2 I did (this one and the head shot). I did this about 3 and a half years ago and I'm not even sure I have the scene file anymore after PC crashes and a full swap to a new machine. But it is a good idea and it's a pity that I didn't.

lol.
The portrait came from one of those "Oh, that's a cool camera angle, must do a render of that" moments. This was of course the image that I was working on at the time.

nice detailing, the red and black combination seems popular with you. question about the lighting on this scene, how many lights? it is just enough to give it a "soft" effect.

Thanks mate. It wasn't a colour combination I wanted to go with this time but the other options I tried just didn't work as well.
The lights I used here were from Studio LE and in this instance I used the portrait light setup but shifted everything to the left so it was just out of the focal point of the light source. I think there are something like 15 or 20 lights in the preset. The other thing I did here was apply some DOF to the figure as well to try to soften the background figures.

i see, the DoF must have been very subtle, was it executed @ rendertime or done in post-work?

It was done at the time of the render. I'd say given the proximity of the rest of the figures in the scene it's impact would be slight, but I hoped it would be enough to take the sharp edge off the rest of the scene.

ahh, i see. for my experiments i used a script by either guandalug or deltax15 that adjusted the camera for your DoF parameters, it was handy, i'm just not sure i still have it in my backups!

I know exactly the script you are referring to, I have the same one in my runtime.
