It was around midnight when the boy arrived in front of this mystical forest. He had seen the foliage already from the distance because it had glown in a wonderful red. And with every step he made in their direction, the glowing became stronger. Now the whole forest was enlighted by its clear shining light. This light came from leafs like stars. And so he could also see the gate in front of the tree. The gate was closed and watched by two old trees on both sides. It took a while until he realized the two small persons in front of him. They were really small and came with a golden key. And one of those dwarfs used a leaf to enlight their way ... he sat down and listened to what they had to tell him. Later on he couldn't tell whether it was a dream or reality.---
This painting was inspired by a dream of my son and it was a pleasure to get lost in the idea of a mystical forest with all of its magical possibilities. So I played around with the idea ...
Watercolor on cold pressed arches paper, at least 20 hours of painting and two months of laying unfinished at my desk!

Die Farben sind wirklich schön geworden - das gelb und blau gefällt mir besonders, da ich diese Farbkombination schon immer besonders schön fand, aber das leuchtende grün kommt fast etwas unerwartet - sieht aber auch sehr schön dazu aus!
Obwohls natürlich etwas hell ist, trotz der leuchtenden Blätter wie ich finde, ist das Licht und Schattenspiel sehr schön gelungen. Vor allem bei dem einen Kobold fällts sehr schön auf mit dem Schatten

Well ... he hasn't already seen the painting finished but at an early stage of the painting he recognized that I took the idea of his dream and he was curious about how it would turn out ... in some hours he will know!
