Description Dragonlance Spoiler

Late, late in the dark watches of the night, Tasslehoff sat outside the cave entrance, staring up into the stars. Flit's helm was clutched in his small hands, tears streaming unchecked down his face.

Always before, the Spring returned.
The bright world in its cycle spun
In the air and flowers, frass and fern,
Assured and cradled by the sun.

Always before, you could explain
The turning darkness of the earth,
and how that dark embraced the rain,
And gave the ferns and flowers birth

Already I forget those things,
And how a vein of gold survives
The mining of a thousand springs,
The season of a thousand lives.

Now winter is my memory,
Now autumn, now summer light--
So every spring from now will be
Another season into the night.

I felt like painting something- for no reason other than to practice painting. I just finished Dragonlance: Dragons of Spring Dawning and, although I knew before hand Flint died in this book, it still tore at my heartstrings. Especially poor Tas. He and Flint have always been and always will be two of my favorite characters in literature and so I found myself in desperate need of some ice cream after this chapter.

I've taken some artistic liberties. I know Tas is looking up but I figure this is at the end of his song, just before he goes back into the cave. I'm not sure what Flint's helm looked like besides the Griffon 'mane' on top so die hard fans will have to excuse me. It was difficult to make Tas look like Tas (or what I feel he should look like) since Kender are known to be childlike yet wrinkly and people don't really look their best when crying.

Anyway, I hope I got the feeling across. I worked harder on this than I set out to. I really was worried more about form than function as I don't really know where the light sorce is and other fun technicalities. Please ignore them. Thank you.

Perhaps I'll do some more DL fan art. I'd like to try my hand at some more characters or, actually, the whole gang. But that's unlikely.

Tasslehoff Burrfoot belongs to Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

Thank you.
Flint was my favorite character in the book so needless to say this chapter is pretty tear-stained in my copy

Thank you! Your comment and print request really made my day. I apologize for not replying sooner, I tend to read my messages and forget to reply!

But truly, I very much appreciate your kindness.

Wow! This scene has always broken my little heart in two. I am so so SO happy though, that not only did I find fanart of this scene, but GOOD fanart. Scarily good. I wish I could paint like you! Or that I had time to paint at all. XD

I am surprised you don't have more comments and praise - this is 2 billion x better than the half the anime stuff floating around on DA nowadays. Not that I have anything against anime - it's just that painting realistically takes a lot more work than computerized anime faces.

Wow, thank you SO much! It's always nice to meet another Dragon Lance fan and I completely agree on the lack of fanart. Especially when it comes to my two favorite characters- Tass and Flint.

Though this is old and I only see flaws in it now- I still appreciate the kind words. Thank you very much!

It's going good. I hope I can keep it a while but even if I don't it's good experience.

It's also great to hear from you again! I have a tendency to worry, you know

I'm so glad to hear it!

I'm sorry, they've been working me really hard even though I'm supposed to be part time. Last week I put in 45 hours. D|

Much ick. That's really unfair, and I'm fairly sure there are laws against working someone full time and only paying them part-time. I'll have to see, though. While I understand you want/need the money you shouldn't be forced to work full-time (or more) without the benefits.

MUST... AVOID... SPOILER...

Don't worry, I did. :3

This is so realistic that it's a little scary. ._. Absolutely gorgeous, though, great emotion. Your eye is wrought to the face.

Thank you, I hope to do another picture of Tas with Flint the dwarf. They're my favorite characters. ^^
