Mistletoe was used to kill Baldur. It was thought to be so insignificant that, when Baldur's mother went around asking everything not to harm her son, she completely ignored it.

I recently put up some mistletoe in my apartment. Soon after hanging it, my roommate invited her fiance (who very recently proposed) over. As soon as they were under it, she goes "I have a surprise." *furious eyebrow wiggling* Fiance: *confused*
Me, leaning against a doorway: "Look up."
...needless to say, they took great advantage of it for the rest of the night. It was ADORABLE.
