Description
Please do not use this tutorial/pattern to make money!!***DAILY DEVIATION?!***
Ok so I got up this morning and thought,
"Hm... Why are so many people favouriting this tutorial... Maybe someone's made a doll and they've linked back to me."
So I had a quick look through today's and yesterday's plushies - Nothing...
Then I got congratulated for a DD...
Some of my closer watches might remember me saying at the beginning of the year that as part of my New Year's resolution, I would try my best to get a DD.
Thank you so much for this, you've made my year

Quick question!!!
Would some kind of marker be okay to draw a face if you can't find/use iron-on eyes???
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AshFantastic In reply to TheJadester [2010-05-08 02:35:14 +0000 UTC]
It'd probably only be advisable to use permanent markers, but make sure you practice on a scrap piece of the same material before you do it on the plush AND make sure it's fully dry before doing anything else
I wonder if you could put some clear nail varnish or something similar on top so the colour stays? Probably worth trying If it works, it'd look nice and shiny

Good point. Thank you very much!!!
Oh and I have another question. To make a plushie, just one, how much felt cloth do you need to complete one? Probably less than one yard, right?

Malion In reply to ??? [2010-05-07 06:09:29 +0000 UTC]
wow. This is amazing... it has inspired me to make a plushie of my own.... although if I were to do it I'd probably have to make the limbs more stubby and the head bigger.
and maybe some button eyes.
Do you think making a t-shirt for one of these will impede arm movement?

AshFantastic In reply to Malion [2010-05-07 13:31:56 +0000 UTC]
Thanks
Nope, just stitch the sleeves of the t-shirt over the button on one side of the arm, just to make sure you don't cover up the hole in the arm... It sounds complicated... But I'll bring out a tutorial for it when I make my next one (which shouldn't be too long )

okay, steps 7-8-9. I really thought it was a vagina for a doll.

but anyway, this is interesting, I've made voodoo dolls before, but this style is quite unique. grats!

Did you ever think of using another technique to button joint your dolls where you don't have to cut a slit into the arms and legs?
You sew everything, stuff it, pin the limbs on the body. Then you take a long needle with a strong thread, bring it throug one limb, then through the body, through the other limb, put a button onto the thread, and then go back through the limb and the body to come out at the startingpoint, where you put another button onto the thread. Pull both sides of the thread to fasten the limbs, tie some knots and bury the threadends in the body. (Does this make sense? I'm not good at explaining this now, as English isn't my mothertongue...)
Thereby the limbs can be stuffed at the shoulder-/hip-end too and you don't have a problem with the slit that could rip open.
Just my two cents^^

Yep! In fact, the smaller versions I make are jointed this way They're too small for buttons, so I know what you mean

I like this jointing method more, but it's a thing of the personal opinion of course - just wanted to add it^^
