Just a heads up for people:
You need an Inkjet printer for most transfers. I think there are one or two brands that have a laser printerΒ versions but otherwise it's all inkjet

Thanks I am a newbie transfer iron t shirt maker so this helps alot. Mine transfered on after 30 mins of doing over again. I put the words upside down though XD so I need to start over.

you can't use light? O__O great,and i bought light =3=

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AshFantastic In reply to RoseyThorns [2012-10-26 22:37:38 +0000 UTC]

You can but all the white will turn transparent. So the light ones are better for eyebrows and stuff.

oh i see O__O thanks for the tip~ ^__^ and also,i saw your Long Doll silver pattern and wanted to ask, what would you recommend using for the skin? O.o is felt okay to use?

AshFantastic In reply to RoseyThorns [2012-10-26 22:57:24 +0000 UTC]

You can use felt, but it wears easily... I use craft velour Doe Suede is also really good

I don't get the part with the eyes. How is it you placed the eyes face up and then when you took off the parchment, the transfer is still there?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AshFantastic In reply to Adriyany [2012-04-18 15:17:34 +0000 UTC]

Different iron-on brands work differently, the ones I use for ees are just like that. The ones I use for mouths and eyebrows and stuff work differently.

Thanks for this awesome tutorial! I'm getting into pushie making...but embroidery was wayyyy to overwhelming for me. I can sew with a machine but once I get the needle in my hand I freak out.

This is an easier solution to well polished plushies!

Question! How do I know I'm printing in the right size? Test print on plain paper?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AshFantastic In reply to AngelERenoir [2011-11-04 14:30:15 +0000 UTC]

Well I use paint to print it out and you can see what size it'll be in the print preview, so try looking on a print preview before you waste any ink

So, if I want an iron on that's white on a pastel color, I use the dark t-shirt transfers?
Very helpful, by the way. :>

Dark1577-7 [2011-10-04 03:00:51 +0000 UTC]

Yea! a better way to do it! When I made my Dark plushie I accutally stiched them on with a sewing machine. Not fun. But it turned out ok.

Would you know how to make iron on transfer that is waterproof? My plush went into the washing machine and came out without eyes. It washed off!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

Dark1577-7 In reply to orenji82 [2011-10-04 03:02:03 +0000 UTC]

I stiched mine on and filled in color with a sharpie. Worked pretty well. Just glue the back of your threads.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

AshFantastic In reply to orenji82 [2011-07-18 13:02:33 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm... I haven't tried anything... But maybe try painting over the eyes with clear nail varnish? That's the only thing I can think of

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

orenji82 In reply to AshFantastic [2011-07-18 13:11:51 +0000 UTC]

Oh, that was the exact same thing that I thought of... but wasn't sure and wanted to know of other alternatives before I make my plush flammable! haha. Thanks.

TheShadowKitty [2011-04-10 14:30:07 +0000 UTC]

What material did you use here? I'm making little tiny plushies for keychains- about 4" tall with soft felt- would these stand a chance of ripping?
I love his eyebrows

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AshFantastic In reply to TheShadowKitty [2011-04-10 14:37:30 +0000 UTC]

I used craft velour, but it's quite rare... I think felt would be ok, I don't think it would rip but you'd notice a change in the fluffiness of it, it ages quite badly

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheShadowKitty In reply to AshFantastic [2011-04-10 14:44:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I've got an "official" plush keychain and a year later the skin coloured felt is quite scruffy, and I've not even taken him anywhere to get dirty!
Obviously for bigger projects I'll be going for the soft fleece/proper plush materials, but these are my first plush ventures (not my first time sewing by any means) and I'm starting small

Thanks for the reply!

You can get it from WHSmith

There's a general idea of prices but there's loads more in-store You can even get glittery ones!!

Thank you for uploading this, I'm about to make my first anime plushie. ^^ This will be a great help. One thing, does transfer paper work on polar fleece?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AshFantastic In reply to cloudminty [2011-01-17 11:38:38 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome
I would say not because fleece is very stretchy and the transfers might rip

cloudminty In reply to AshFantastic [2011-01-17 15:00:54 +0000 UTC]

Okay, thank you! I guess I'll just sew on felt eyes and mouth for the face.

Great tutorial, thanks!

But I have a question: what type of printer do you need for this? I guess a normal inkjet printer wouldn't do, or would it?
