Funnily enough, when I read the Iron Man novels I had a bit of deja vu...
SH: My mind rebels at stagnation!
IM (about Tony): His mind chafes against boredom, rages against the very notion of tedium.
What's even funnier, on the very first page of the novel Tony mentions an unnamed genius friend of his who is abusing drugs because of boredom (Tony thinks it's a stupid idea to threaten the safety of one's brain in this way, but exactly the moment he thinks that, he's getting drunk on Scotch). That passage just screams for a SH/IM crossover to me 
And novel!Jarvis is similar to Watson (especially 2009!Watson) in many respects; he's British, snarky, he helps Tony win his fights, he's one person that can get Tony in check, and at some points in the story, the only person left that Tony can rely on. He also monitors Tony's health in Iron Man 2 (the novel).
