With not a lot of free time on my hands to do my own modeling I've been bumming around different sites looking for meshes to download and play with and maybe practice some texturing when I came across Chris Kuhn's Enterprise mesh from Discovery and salivated and downloaded and then realized it was in Autocad or something and had to convert it to OBJ and then over to Truespace and now I have to texture it and color it and all that exciting stuff, but LOOK AT THE DETAILING ON THIS THING.ΒI'm actually kind of salivating while I paint the windows and so on. Chris did some AMAZING work bringing this to everyone. I'm absolutely not taking credit for this mesh but I am going to try to convert it to DAZ with working lighting for iray renders

I just wish I could use his model in my CAD. When I import it into mine and convert it(stl) I get all you see in the image above and I cannot edit it.

I love the new design. It's different but has the best of both TOS and Phase II/TMP elements. Trying to convert her myself to make a DISCO version of the F.I.D.Β

I can't tell you how happy and relieved I was to see this design on screen for the first time. I know the Discovery itself is modelled on the Phase 2 Enterprise, but I really don't like its shape or the spinny saucer. After what they did to the Klingons, I was worried they were going to mess with the classic Enterprise shape as well. I would even say I prefer the Discovery Enterprise over the TOS one. So much so it's been my desktop wallpaper since the episode aired!
