Asani is a young adult hyena born to parents of unrevealed background. He wandered for quite a while on his own for reasons he is not open to discussing, not seeing a single hyena clan along the way until he found Jiwe clan. Though he became close with Bakari, he maintains a distance between himself and the rest of the clan. He resents the leadership, though Bakari begs him not to be so open about that.
